Who's giving him attention? The media. For ratings. I spent an hour on my back deck lecturing last night but no one was listening!

Why are you looking for the exact same phenomena coming from the other direction?

The biggest reason this right wing extremism is so solidly in our conscious is because of the MSM and their skewed reporting. You just don't have enough about your own side to denounce-- if you really would.

Uh.... you do know he has announced that he is running for President and is currently the front runner and potential winner don't you? You don't think that's newsworthy?

Perhaps. There were certainly some they got wrong as well. What they didn't do is tell people their nation was being stolen(until The Republican president and his GOP supporters did try and steal it.) and that the other party was running a child sex trade.

They didn't compare their followers to revolutionary soldiers fighting against tyranny.

The two have not been equivalent.

That is forward-looking. Instead, they choose to re-hash the past over and over and over... wouldn't you say?

Who is the "they" to which you refer? Seems kind of a broad intention on your part. Is that accurate really?

lol. im a moron for pointing out your lies. haha.

your point was that he was a paid employee and that is not true.

the consensuses from pretty much everyone in this thread except you is that he is a mentally ill person who at one point was influenced by far left extremists and in the last few years went off the deep end into far right extremist conspiracy theories and trumperism. you seem to be unwilling or unable to acknowledge what is widely reported and only want to focus on the fact that at he at one point was associated with far left organizations. you keep brining up indybay and his wife from 20 years ago and then ignore depapes own statements to police after his arrest and statements from his friends, neighbors and family about how he went off on right wing conspiracy theories in the last few years.

youre the one who brought it up. youre the one making those claims. if its irrelevant then why do you keep bringing it up in this thread?

then why keep bringing it up? why are you obsessed with indybay?

again, youre the one making an issue out of it. youre the one who has been claiming he was a paid employee of indybay. you have now shifted to saying he was just involved with indybay, but i dont understand why you are now claiming that you never said these things when your posts are here for all to see.

except that ATW claimed he was a paid employee. he repeatedly claimed that depape worked for indybay and was the photographer for indybay. doesnt seem like he was implying that depape was a volunteer.

also, i have volunteered as well. i wouldnt call that "work". i was volunteering. or i was helping someone. i was "working" in a physical sense, but it wasnt a job.

and as i pointed out already, on indybays about page they describe themselves as a volunteer organization. sounds like anybody could be a reporter for them...

    https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2003/12/08/16643971.php

The San Francisco Bay Area Independent Media Center (Indybay) is a non-commercial, democratic collective of bay area independent media makers and media outlets, and serves as the local organizing unit of the global Indymedia network.
Principles of Unity: San Francisco Bay Area Indymedia
    1. We strive to provide an information infrastructure for people and opinions who do not have access to the airwaves, tools and resources of corporate media. This includes audio, video, photography, internet distribution and any other communication medium.
    2. We support local, regional and global struggles against exploitation and oppression.
    3. We function as a non-commercial, non-corporate, anti-capitalist collective.
San Francisco Bay Area Indymedia involves volunteer participants and allied collectives organized along anti-authoritarian principles of open and transparent decision-making processes, including open public meetings; a form of modified consensus; and the elimination of hierarchies.

San Francisco Bay Area Indymedia participants shall not act in a manner that endangers, intimidates, or physically harms any member of the group, including by sexual harassment or acts of violence. Indymedia members shall strive to act in a respectful manner to other members of the collective as well as the public.

The "they" that were comparing their supporters to revolutionary war fighters or fighting against Nazis were Ted Cruz, MGT, Lauren Boebert, Madison Cawthorn, Mo Brooks, Matt Gaetz, Louie Gohmert as well as Media personalities such as Tucker Carlson, Pearson Sharp, etc.

Of course there was also a poll which said 39% of Republicans had some belief in using violence to protect America in regards to political leaders. That's more than twice as many Democrats who believed in using violence.

Do you want Trump to run for and become President in 2024?

Volunteer "work" is much different than "work work".

I guess it feels like work because you spend hours at the place, but you generally decide what load you want or what grief you're willing to take.

The type of brain required to go from Obama to Trump is either a brain that just trolls and isn't sincere or that incredibly stupid.

The extremists.. just as I thought.

The higher percentage of Republicans is totally expected for two reasons: 1) attitudes towards guns/self-defense and 2) a decades-old concerns about America slipping away from its core values.

The Dems concern seems to have been born on JAN 6th...
