Silas needs to be fired for the way he treats Alperen Sengun

the potential with this kid is ROY and an allstar easily perhaps in his first year/2nd year and HC for PO if just given PT and a proper role....
instead he plays him 6 minutes a night??!

Nah, believe it or not there are actually some Rockets fans who support the team rather than slurp Sengun 24/7.

 

It does for sure, but post plays and iso are a lot harder to come by. Teams really pack in.. Embiid and Jokic haven’t even made it to the finals. 3 point shooting is really important and ball movement

 

Alp gives you ball movement. He needs to develop a 3 pt shot

 

The next big step for Sengun is the ability to hit 3s, but I am really liking the dynamic between him, Green and Jabari. On paper, all 3 guys have complementary strengths, and last game definitely showed what it could look like if things came together. He really needs to continue getting minutes with those two.

 

if u think Sengun is slurp after last night, pls tell us about Jabari, one of the worst NBA starters to date according to stats (not my opinion), or KPJ or other players. Let's see your agenda or opinions.. Do you support the botttom team last two seasons because of .... / fill in the blanks there. and Silas is not a nice guy. If u believe someone is nice because of a fake smile all the time, u r in for a treat in the real world. Silas is the meanest mean SOF a Silas in the world.

 

I guess my point is that I don’t see us just dumping it down to him 24/7. We need to balance it all and pick our spots. I do love Sengun rolling downhill and getting fed after the defense collapse. He’s greatly improved there from last season

Pelicans, Bucks, Suns and Nuggets all post up around 9 possessions per game and it doesn't 'slow' them down. They all score over 114 pts per game.
Rockets only post for 4 possessions, 9 should be the target with an elite footwork center. It's not going to 'slow' you down, that was some funny ish.

I truly believe Silas is the best thing for the Rockets right now. The big picture is to retool with a young core to grow with over next few years. If he is in on it or just the worst coach ever it looks the same. Silas in game adjustment have been wonderful if the goal is to get the top talent from the draft. Silas’s love for Porter a low IQ flashy player playing out of position works for higher draft picks, too. Silas a “player’s coach” has no veteran players to choose from => Gordon is not interested or capable looks the same. Silas coaching staff are much more successful than him at any level which makes me believe development is happening behind the scenes. Silas is nothing more than a place holder for us till the time is right.

Well something happened to our young team; the Hawks punked the players and woke the pride of our players. Silas being a player’s coach just let it happen => wins. I don’t know where we go from here because it goes against the big picture and short term. We maybe better than okay; but I think the organization would like one more chance at a super high draft pick before the OKC payment starts. Remember most of the players are on the first few years of rookie contracts => locked in till the OKC payment is finished. We have time to develop.

The wanted Rocket organization’s brand of basketball is definitely different than that we have seen over the last couple of seasons. I can see some if not all of the drafted players used differently and being more than special as a team. New coach = new team the talent is already here and definitely better than what we see in the games. Silas on purpose or not he has a job to do.

There is a unique mix of talent on this team and it is all young. We don't need a guy with a system. We need a guy who can see the potential, put the parts together to make a great whole, and give the team an identity in the process. Silas is looking at this team like crazy angst-ridden fictional Jerry West when we need a fresh-set-of-eyes Jack McKinney type. Or we need to go from a Chaney to a Rudy T if you prefer Rockets history.

Plus, I have to say his constant grinning is just weird and kind of creeps me out. I'm not sure how effective a leader you can be when that is your image.

I know he is hindering development because I have eyes and my brain works.... Silas is basically playing Sengun to his weaknesses, thankfully Sengun has enough talent to overcome Sila's poor coaching. Sengun needs the ball in his hands, Silas removes the ball from him. Sengun needs time to create a shot for himself or someone else. Silas wants to hand the ball off to Sengun with 3 seconds left on the shot clock. Sengun should be starting, Silas has him come off the bench. Sengun should be getting more minutes, Silas does as much as possible to cut down his minutes. Silas is basically doing everything opposite of what any normal coach would do.

Green is the superstar and that's clear as day but Sengun is the best player on the team in terms of being a complete package. He is the guy coaches love because of his high IQ, great footwork and ability to create for the superstar. Any coach would be excited and happy to talk about Sengun in post game interviews. Watch the games from the other teams broadcasts, its Sengun who they understand can cause problems for them. Any coach would be running Sengun out there the most minutes. Silas is the only dummy that is having a hard time getting the car going because he can't seem to understand that in order to drive forward you gotta put the car in drive first...
