I have a hard time putting much faith in any publication that ranks our bullpen 10th

That was before they resigned Montero. They’re 8th now. Bullpen war projections are notoriously fickle no matter the site. But you can look and see the bullpens ahead of Houston are stacked.

I don’t know who it will be, but if one of the main issues between Crane and Click and as Crane wanting him to be more aggressive, I can’t see us losing JV AND not signing one of the bigger bats

That would be hilarious and sad all at the same time.

Every other playoff contender would be stoked to not have to see JV and Degrom in the playoffs.

    Gotcha

And yes relief pitchers more than any position can go from a great year to a bad one

I just can’t think of a pen I would trade ours for

And even without JV it’s tough to find 6 rotations I would rather have also, although I’m higher on Javier than most.

I expect Houston to sign one of Abreu or Bell and likely another decent OF bat (Benintendi, Conforto, Haniger, Brantley). They will (wisely) stay away from free agents that are asking for 5+ years.

Is Conforto just seen as a corner OF? I like his bat a lot but if we sign a bat to play OF would be so much better if he could play some CF

The realistic CF free agent options are Nimmo and that's it, it's extremely thin

The other available free agents that have played competent CF don't project to actually improve over Chas/Jake.

Wonder if Crane will be aggressive in an offer for Reynolds

I know people mention Mullins a lot but Baltimore was already on the edge of contention last year, can’t see them moving Mullins even for a legit offer

He is not embarrassing in CF but he is better suited to a corner.

When you factor in defense, I'm not sure Reynolds is a giant upgrade over Chaz, at least not enough to justify the huge cost Pittsburgh will demand.

On paper we have 3 glaring offensive holes right now and CF isn't one of them, although like everybody I wish we got better production out of the spot.

Conforto is s**t in CF. Lesser level of s**t in RF, but he missed all of last year for surgery on his throwing (right) shoulder.

He'd be like putting Brantley in CF or RF.

I really think Toronto is going wrong this off-season.

Looks at tweet...looks at calendar...does math.

5 days later and it hasn't become close to reportedly happening. Check your sauces, kids. Don't post bullshit.
