You do realize when Disney was trying to stay out of the Florida "Don't Say Gay" law, Bob Iger was all-in, right?



I don't think Iger is the change tinman is looking for.

 

love how anyone that gets fired for any reason is labeled as "too woke" despite context or even who is replacing that person LOL.

Republicans love creating enemies out of thin air, brown people, liberals, "woke-ness" etc. What are they going to call the next enemy to get riled up on? Can they start waging a war against people who use Apple products? That company seems pretty "woke" and LGBTQ supportive...

 

I haven't followed internal Disney politics but it seem slike Chapek is the fall guy for some things that he didn't really support and for stuff out of his control.

Iger was the CEO when Disney was the most profitable. He also seems more "woke" than Chapek. This seems to have nothing to do with how "not woke" they might be and more about who the boards think has a better track record at making money.

 

Yeah dude. That’s propaganda 101. Give them something to hate.

 

Chapek hire was an almost immediate disaster. Stockholders hated him. The creative talent hated him. Park-goers hated him.

Instead of doing his job as he was supposed to - steward of the stock + parks growth - he'd comment and interfere with departments he wasn't knowledgeable with.

He had to act like he knew everything about everything. He spent time commenting/interfering with departments that were already established instead of trying to grow stagnant ones.

People shouldn't even have known his name. If you do your job right in this scenario, the general public never knows who you are, like MSFT's CEO. But he was so bad, everybody who likes Disney in any capacity - animation, sports, movies, hulu, parks, etc... - knew his name.

This is capitalism at work. If you reduce to this to WOKEEEEE - you're one them dumb-dumbs.

 

From reading the latest articles and what I've heard, he didn't win the creatives and the last earnings call was the straw that broke the camel's back because he shrugged off the billion dollar losses as wins.

It's very similar to the shitshow at ATT/TW. There was a disconnect with the ATT CEO and the jarring change in culture burned the TW creative directors.

That’s crazy nonsense! Wow..,Why is it a “red flag” if writers are fans of original comics or source material…this is what fans truly want NOT a mashup for the sake of an agenda..no wonder marvel is turning into hot garbage lmao

 

So I’m watching this new cartoon movie on Disney plus. Lolz they are shoving it in your face.

Nothing to cry about though. Doesn’t affect the story so far.

 

Well, I'm planning to give Disney some money soon...I'm ignoring whatever politics there might be, I just want my kids to have a nice time.
