To what that I was doing get out the vote? I mentioned that in the midterms thread.

Anyway Sarah Sherman seems to think Fetterman is pretty hot.

I don't see why it's so hard to accept that there are women who find John Fetterman attractive. He is married to a rather attractive wife.

My daughter worked as a waitress but it doesn't make her blue collar. She's not driving a Jeep Rubicon around but she ain't blue collar. AOC will never appeal to anyone not totally liberal. Too much blaming rich people for all the problems in the world. Poor people want to be rich someday.

AOC is a woman, and that is a major disadvantage for her as there is a lot of subtle and not obvious sexism against her.

Also, while Fetterman has avoided high fashion and the city, AOC is attracted to it like a moth to light.

The issue is half just that she is a woman and half her personality.

Fetterman is usually more measured than AOC and that matters.

I find it interesting that Republicans are attacking both of them for how they look.

No, I know women that find him attractive. I don't know anyone that would call him "beautiful", but there are definitely women that find him sexy or are sexually attracted to him. Some of that is his size, and some of it is that he looks like a criminal. Some women are attracted to mean men.

Whatever, he seems to have a cool wife anyway.

Yea. But it depends on how you see blue-collar. The common (or cultural) definition is hard manual work by men. Fetterman's image and style are blue-collar and white working class can relate. I don't know if there could ever be a woman being a blue-collar type of candidate. Has there ever been a female that speaks that way (Fetterman or blue-collar style) and is successful in politics (or even in the general working field)? I don't know of any...

I believe AOC would have been considered “working class” before getting into Congress.

Either way… conservatives are just the type of folks to have weird homoerotic fascinations, weird fascinations with children’s programming, and weird fascination of mocking people based on looks.

Assuming she's viewed that way (I'm not so sure) ...

Not successful in politics. Obama destroyed McCain/Palin in the Midwest states.

she's at least as successful as Fetterman. Governor of a state, VP candidate. she may have crashed and burned later, but you can't say she wasn't successful.

Kind of apple and oranges TBH. But I was narrowly looking at it through the blue-collar frame in the Midwest States. I think Fetterman would be successful in those. Palin, it's hard to tell. She was a VP candidate, but one of the goals of McCain's campaign was to attract blue-collar working class. It didn't materialize at all. That might be more on McCain than Palin.

She was a one term governor of a state that is about 1/15th the population of PA and didn't even complete that term. She has lost every election since including two in the last year. Fetterman has won multiple statewide elections in PA.

While she was VP candidate that is the perhaps the biggest mistake that John McCain made.
