Our defense is undoubtedly looking worse than last season despite some improvements. That's mostly on the players.

Silas isn't helping with his poor rotations. No other coach in the league would have Matthews ahead of Josh Christopher on his team. Silas is a laughing stock.

 

I just can not understand some fans impatience to try and compete right away for an even lower odds we ever even win a championship(or even build a middling contender) than drafting the guy who actually raises our odds of not just winning 1, but becoming a rare dynasty. Win or lose, you take those 14% odds when only 2 other teams share those odds. Then you add the odds you can win the #2 pick(who likely goes #1 many other years) which combined with our young guys natural talent progression can actually make you a budding contender at a faster rate than a "winning culture" can do after a 3-14 start. If you drop further, oh well. We had to play the odds. One thing is for sure, right now Green and Bari are way far behind what Boston had in Tatum and Brown and don't forget DPOTY Smart at the same ages. I know that's the model you probably have in mind.

You think Cade, the "NBA ready" winner and leader and so much better than Jalen future HOFer is part of a losing culture? Because they're dead last with us. How about NBA ready Paolo who is 10x more advanced in his game than Bari right now? What's that get Orlando? 2 more wins than us. All these teams and their losing cultures. Mobley doesn't even count because Cleveland just built a damn good team that could be winning the same with Cade, Green, Bari or Paolo in place of him.

Do you want to be Charlotte? 30 to 40 wins for decades? Because at best you can hope 3rd year Green has a good enough effect on winning that 2nd year Ball had for them last year. That gets you 40 wins at peak. This is maybe the first year they're doing the smart thing and tanking for Wemby too. After 20+ years of mediocrity. They now know Ball alone is good enough to get them high 30s to low 40s just like they were already at, but instead of settling for that, add Wemby to Ball and you're looking at a new potential showtime. "Ball's ankle hurts." That's the smart play and for once MJ who never understood building through losing is doing the right thing.
