You have to get over the ball when you are shooting if you are leaning back too much the ball tends to sail -- it's a fine line as it's more shifting your weight forward not actually leaning over the ball. When you are looking for long distance you shift your weight back so the the ball rises -- picture goalies bombing goal kicks 75 yards.

Yeesh half empty for the opening day -- Ecuadorian fans were chanting 'we want beer'.

Can’t have the World Cup without beers. German and English fans really pissed.

Qataris apparently don't understand the normal back and forth trash talk between opposing team fans -- I've seen several of these today.

I don't think we'll be seeing any of the classic Americans who still make this "point" in this thread.

I want to see England keep pouring this on against Iran for the goal differential tie breaker.

England has already advanced to the round of 16 on goal difference alone.

Weak. Was to be expected. But I am disapointed. Would be an even stronger statement if van Dijk would have worn it anyway.

Until he gets sent off for an accidental foul.

Man we are so weak offensively.... but since Depay is our best striker we are in trouble.

Not the best game, but happy with the result. Noppert did well. Not bad for his first international game.

Yeah, 2-0 doesn't feel reflective of how that game went. Senegal's energy couldn't withstand your technical ability and class.

If the U.S men's team was smart, this would be their walk in music.
