Serious question. We've got so much dead money on the books, can we afford to fire him and Pep?

This is insanity. They both should not survive the week. Whoever has made the hire the each of the last two times can be fired as well.

I'm sure if that owner of the Houston football team cares enough, she should be able to afford to fire them. It's not like she and her son made the money they're sitting on anyways.

But why? Don't you think everyone knows the plan is to lose games?

Keep Lovie but get a DC and a new OC.

THIS…I think he is a good head coach but he doesn’t need to be calling anything just managing the game but if we do fire him I say we bring in someone young and innovative cause I’m tired of these old heads

The plan is to look like you've lost the locker room while setting new records for your ineptitude each and every week?

Everyone knows he’s not the answer, he never was, and neither was Culley. There’s really no reason to fire him right now though because nobody anywhere could win with this team yet. They need to assemble a lot more talent before turning the keys over to someone else. Lovie is probably as good as anyone for what they have at the moment.

If they draft a QB this year then ousting Lovie and Pep at the least MUST happen. Keeping that lameduck coach and unimaginative OC on the payroll and allow them to crucify the young QB each week would be a disaster. If they dont go QB this draft then keeping them on for another year would assure you would be in the running for the top guys at the position the next year. Sucks I know to keep passing the buck, but its the only way to get this team back into contending via the draft.

if they are going to fire two coaches in two years, they will need to overpay for whomever replaces them

which is exactly what they should do

This is where I’ve been leaning. If we get a qb, we need to have our HC position settled. No use in having a franchise QB go through 2-3 HCs to begin his career.
Demeco seems like he’ll be a great coach but I don’t see him coming here. This defense is so bad and he has so much talent on his current roster that he’s able to cover whomever his weakest player is. He won’t be able to do that here. It would be huge if he did come here and we went defense with the first two picks.

    Stingley
    Pitre
    C. Harris
    Will Anderson
    Myles Murphy or Bryan Bresee
    FA - Da’Ron Payne

Wishful thinking but he could convince FAs to come here. Then next year draft a QB.

So many of the coaches people wanted after the O'Brian wacking are doing a solid job in their new gigs.
I feel if Lovie wasn't here Easterby be would be, so I don't want to mess with that timeline. Lovie has served his purpose. The sacrifice is appreciated. But we have to move forward. Demeco.

If the Texans are willing to overpay, Demeco will come
