Besides you who is saying Bryce is a mediocre qb? Scouts are saying he’s the real deal. You don’t pass up a franchise qb when you have commander gutter at the position.
I like Bryce but he’s got a huge bust potential. More than others due to his size. He’s not a for sure prospect, and scouts are even saying as much. Not that being a can’t miss prospect means anything these days
You can say the same for the qbs in 2024. Drafting Will Anderson is ignoring the elephant in the room. Until you get a qb you have no chance. Take Bryce
I don’t know if Maye is a “sure fire” prospect. Kid barely had 200 yards and no touchdowns against one of the poorest defenses in just the ACC conference. They allow 400 yards per game.
Every prospect has had bad days. He’s been the best QB in the country as a redshirt freshman. There are several scouts that have said he would be the number 1 pick in this draft and Williams and him will go 1-2 in some order. He had a bad day, but the kid is their leading rusher and one the leading passers in the country with minimal talent around him. He’s got size, elite arm, elite athleticism and production.
Bryce has the best football head on his shoulders of any of the qbs. This year and next.. that alone should be enough for everyone to want him first. waiting for next year doesn’t make sense, too many unknowns: Will we get first pick? For sure? Will Maye and Williams be that good? Spencer Rattler says hi. Hell even Deshaun Watson we talked about tanking to 1st to pick up then got him 12th after 2 other qbs.. Let’s just take the smartest one and pair him with Metchie and watch them both gel into pro football.
Speak for yourself. The fact that you keep artificially lowering his height to prove your point means that he likely is at their level and you’re too self interested in gambling for an unlikely scenario in 2024 to be realistic.
Not artificially lowering his height. It’s going to be tough for him to crack 5’10. He’s shorter than Metchie. And even 5’10 185 is too small. There’s no self interest in it, I would prefer the bigger more physically gifted player that has the same type or better production.
Where’s the 185 comp from? Just checked like a few sites they’re all 194+ I don’t even know when’s the last time I’ve seen him listed 5’9. It’s been 5’11 almost everywhere. who cares until draft combine date anyway. lets draft your Ryan Mallet, Paxton Lynch, Levi Willis with great measurables over a QB with “smarts”
Several scouts have came out and said his roster measurement are very inflated. Most think he’s sub 190 and 5’10 at best, on top of not being an elite athlete. I like Young, but facts are facts, there has never been someone his height, with a slight frame and not elite athletically be successful. He is far more likely to be hurt getting hit than someone with a bigger frame and mass. If he was 6’2 -220 he would be the no doubt best prospect in the draft. And no one has said that Maye or Williams are dumb, they’re literally two of the best QBs in the country. Stop trying to equate them to just being athletes, you don’t lead the country in passing over 10 yds without being able to read defenses. Specially when you have less skill talent around you than Alabama and Ohio St.
I believe Mills bad play will force the organization hand in getting a qb in this upcoming draft regardless. The fans reaction and media frustrations are going to be a hard sell to everyone to run it back another season with Mills. So I would get comfortable with the possibility of having Young, Stroud, Levis, Hooker etc
Quarterback Hendon Hooker sustained a torn ACL in his left knee on Saturday night. Hendon and the Hooker Family appreciate all of your prayers and support. Hendon's incredible journey has been defined by faith, perseverance and strength. Obstacles have never stood in the wav on his path to greatness. Forever a Tennessee legend and the ultimate teammate, we know Hendon will come back stronger than ever as he embarks on a promising NFL future.
Hopefully, we can get him in the second round now Defense with the first two picks. Will Anderson & Bryan Bresee or Myles Murphy
