I saw it. Most recently he was espousing right wing talking points. Prior to that he had been left wing extremist. His statement to the police about his rational echoes right wing talking points. ETC.

Translation: I don't care about the facts. I want this to be labeled right-wing.

    Thanks for clarifying.

He can't move on. First it was a gay sexual tryst. Then it was the guy is a left winger. When it actually comes out the guy is a nut who used to espouse left wing conspiracy theories and now has become a nut who espouses right- wing conspiracies ATW just wants to scream "He is a left winger!" When in reality the guy is mentally ill person who got co-opted by far right conspiracy theories, just like a lot of people in this country.

DePape clearly had mental issues. I don't see why it's so hard to acknowledge that what motivated this particular incident was Rigthwing rhetoric. If this had happened a couple of years ago maybe he would've tried to attack Kevin McCarthy because of Leftwing rhetoric.

It just happened that for whatever reason he decided to act on the latest rhetoric that he had been hearing.

Because it is not supported by the facts. If it was as clear-cut as you would like it to be, the police would have said so. But they haven't.

Yes there are still facts coming out but SFPD have stated this wasn't a random attack and it was a targeted attack on a political leader. There is also other statements from those who knew him regarding his political leanings.

Yes, there are statements and history showing he believed in conspiracy theories, both from the left and from the right. There is also lots of history showing he was a member of leftist organizations (indybay) and statements by the mother of his children and his neighbors saying he was left.

So, at best, it is inconclusive, which is all I have been saying from the beginning. It seems like he was influenced by a weird mishmash of conspiracy theories.

The guy was crazy, believed in conspiracy theories and was likely a heavy drug user.

The desperate attempts to say this was definitely "right-wing" are not supported by the facts, the authorities aren't saying it either.

The guy wasn't even a US citizen. He isn't your typical MAGA type. Would he have picked up on some of the conspiracy theories these guys believe in? Yes, maybe/probably.

We don't really know because everything the guy has posted has been purged from the internet. We aren't allowed to form our own opinion. Why is that? Is it because someone has an interest in saying he is purely right-wing?

Uh, no. You don’t get it, and you’re the one with an obvious agenda in this thread if you can’t acknowledge which side of the political aisle is boosting Qanon nonsense online.

Prove that you actually have a first-hand basis to "have a good idea of who's responsible for promoting the conspiracy theories he believes in". Just show the evidence, since you are a poster who cares about facts. Thank you in advance.

You are asking for evidence that anti-Democrat conspiracy theories are primarily boosted by right wing echo chambers online? That is all I said.

Do you have any evidence that this Canadian illegal resident targeted Ms. Pelosi specifically because she is a Democrat?

Can you cite any specific conspiracy theory that motivated the guy to do what he did?

Do you have any evidence online that you can point me to?

We know what he said after he got arrested - none of that revealed any specific conspiracy theory other than anger against politicians in general and Ms. Pelosi in particular.

As I have shown, Ms. Pelosi was targeted by Indybay members (very far left-wing, Mr. DePape contributed there for years as a photographer) - they held tens of protests in front of her house.

Probably already posted, but a sampling of the weird stuff be believed in:

    https://www.latimes.com/california/...spect-david-depape-shared-conspiracy-theories

In another, he called “equity” a leftist dog whistle “for the systematic oppression of white people” and “diversity” a “dog whistle for the genocide of the white race.” In others, he posted separate videos questioning the Holocaust and alleging Jewish bankers were responsible for Hitler’s rise to power.

That sounds like a lefty to you?

    https://www.rollingstone.com/politi...osi-attacker-shared-qanon-beliefs-1234620507/

At the time of his arrest on Friday, DePape, 42, maintained a subscription-model blogwhere he vented rage over Covid-19 precautions and espoused beliefs shared by the conspiracist QAnon movement. The page also includes dedicated sections for Holocaust denial, climate change denial, transphobia, racism, misogyny, voter fraud conspiracy theories, Second Amendment absolutism, screeds against groomers and “pedos,” and trashing actress Amber Heard, the ex-wife of Johnny Depp.

In addition to the content uncovered by Rolling Stone, CNN reported that DePape throughout 2021 used his Facebook page to share videos in which MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell falsely claimed that the 2020 election had been stolen, as well as transphobic memes and links to anti-vaccination websites.

Also on Facebook, he promoted the idea that the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection was a sham that would soon collapse and indicated his belief that George Floyd died of a drug overdose rather than having his neck kneeled on by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. He also alluded to the so-called “Great Reset,” the conspiracy theory that shadowy elites are using the Covid-19 to drastically reshape society as we know it.

He’s getting all that from lefties?

Do you have any evidence, such as excerpts from his blog posts, to show that he cares about the issues that Indy bay activists were protesting about in front of Pelosi’s house? You think this had to do with Medicare for All, or Cuba, or her Taiwan visit?
