Well that might be what he said but he clearly didn't want to buy it at the end of the day. He was very much forced to close on the deal. Its a shitty business and he bought it at a time when TSLA's stock is way down. TSLA is down 55% YTD and falling. The timing was just terrible for the whole thing.

And unfortunately, he got stuck with a distressed asset and immediately started panicking because he wasn't prepared for this. In order to reimagine the platform, it would require significant investment (since TWTR is a money loser) but instead he cut costs and somehow thought he could bully the remaining workforce to just put in crazy hours to compensate. No sane person (unless you're an H1-B) is going to stick around for this shitshow when you can take three months of severance. All of those employees will find jobs (even in a down economy).

Musk privately offered to purchase Twitter at the reduced prices of $31 billion and $39.6 billion, both of which the company rejected.[135][136]

On October 3, Musk's legal team informed Twitter that Musk had changed his mind and decided to move forward with his proposed acquisition at the originally agreed-upon price of $54.20 per share, on the condition that Twitter drop its lawsuit.[137]

    lolz.

That's a shitload of sports franchises he could've bought with the difference....

Shiet I know we live in the age of silly printed on-ledger money, but the amount of billions thrown and lost in the past 2 years is mind blowing.

Is this more about how young/educated they are as well?

The older/less educated/ and adding white to either or both of those two really skews it.

Meaning often if you have read more than 5 books in your life does not = a likely Trump voter.

Twitter won't die anytime soon. Even if Elon declares bankruptcy, he could still sell it to Verizon/Comcast/even Disney for a few billion like yahoo/aol/myspace(lulz)

All these shitposts of twitter in da shitter is par-da-****in-course in a land where Elon is King.
