The HATE for KPJ is unreal. Now people are comparing him to Westbrook?

He shoots better than Westbrook, his handle is better than Westbrook and his turnovers are no where near how much Westbrook turned the ball over.

Westbrook was dynamic in the open floor but you just never knew what he was going to do.

lol you cant just plug a pure point guard and expect him to perfeclly work suddenly after 2 years of not giving them the ball or playing time...
alpi needs to be given the ball and a longer leash for a longer period...

    3FG : 34.0%
    FT : 80.8%

    TS : 52.2%

    KPJ
    FG : 41.0%
    2FG : 44.7%
    3FG : 33.8%
    FT : 73.3%
    EFG: 46.7%

Why should anybody stop staing the fact that he has only played 75 NBA games as a pg and that has been with a team that was so devoid of talent they had the worst record in the NBA.

Why would anybody stop stating those facts, do you think they have no bearing on the conversation?

Why are you propping up D Mitchell the guy that could never get out of the 1st round when he had a team with a top 4 record?

Thanks for letting everyone know that your opinion does not mean much.

This is fun playing with numbers, so why are we not comparing Green to Westbrook?

    JG
    FG: 42.6%
    3FG 34.8%
    FT% 76
    EFG 50.7
    TS 54.6%

    Lets play some more

    Donovan Mitchell his 3rd year.

    FG% 44.9
    3p% 35%
    FT% 86
    EFG 51%
    TS% 55.6

It seems most of the difference is FT's right?

Yeah as a lead playmaker (which is usually what a PG is in the modern day offense whether its technically a SG, SF, or PG) your primary objective in an NBA offense is to collapse the defense which opens up the 3 point shot, and the ball movement needed to simply get open shots regardless.

The inability to finish at the rim is his biggest problem, and what's even more problematic about it is when you miss at the rim, AND you fall down looking to draw a foul, you are on the ground, and the furthest away from the opposing rim as you can be which opens up an easy 4 on 5 fast break every single time. So if you are going to be a lead guard who attacks the rim, you really do need to be elite to be truly effective. So while KPJ is not a terrible scorer by any means, it's enough of a liability to really show.

And that's one thing to teach your kids, or younger ball players about some basic fundamentals. If you are driving to the rim, DO NOT fall if you absolutely do not need to. Keep your center of gravity because the better the other teams get, the more that will be exploited on the other end. Look at Harden or Lebron. They draw more fouls at the rim than anyone, but they hardly ever are actually on the ground when they get fouled. They are masters at taking contact at the rim, and holding their center of gravity. A small but important skill or trait for playmakers.

13 of 15 have been against teams .500 or better and all in the top 8 seeds if the playoffs were to begin now.

Only 2 games against "the others" in Minny and Orlando.

Ya those are definitely numbers of someone who scores more efficiently.

What is your point? Ya Green is a more efficient scorer than KPJ and Westbrook.
