This Tweet just says 2 statements that aren't based in any reality. The SAME PEOPLE THAT DO A DON'T DO B. Weakest trope there is. Is this the kinda stuff yall Twitter people get off on?

The SAME PEOPLE that don't like APPLE PIE will eat APPLES.

Im not sure if you're completely oblivious to how the world works. Do you not understand this is a global economy? Do you understand that 'Chyna and the Middle East' (whatever that means) along with every country in the world, including N Korea and Iran, invests in all markets in some form or fashion? Hello? Who do you think invests in Google and Amazon?

You dont have to like Musk. But you often run off on these wild tangents that make little sense in the grand scheme. Why are you not criticizing all the American companies that allow China and Saudi Arabia to provide investment money?

You can simply say "I dont like Elon Musk because he picks on my political team".

I had no idea it was a global economy…. North Korea is investing in our media?!?!

So then Elon isn’t just playing with his own money….

Tangent? I’m responding directly to the tweet you posted…. So Elon isn’t just playing with his own money and folks are bothered by one of the largest financial frauds….

It much deeper than that…. Likewise I would assume you stan for Elon for a reason greater than “he picks on my unfavored political team”.

Ive said this multiple times. I have mad respect for what he has did for the EV industry and the Space industry and his other visions . And all you can come back with is 'but ... but... but... government subsidies'. That is the whole point of government subsides...to spur innovation to keep America at the forefront. The man was successful and now he picks on your favorite political team. Politicians and parties do not give a **** about you or me.

Tesla and SpaceX are great achievements…. But it just bothers some folks with the whole notion that “he didn’t build that”. Elon was a great visionary but he also had the timing (technology caught up) and government subsidies/regulation to make his vision come true. Reusable rockets aren’t new, the technology wasn’t there before. Elon was smart to realize it. I don’t find anything wrong with that, but find the Elon narrative laughable.

I’m more bothered by the Elon worship through this carefully crafted narrative than picking on my political team. His “free speech” narrative is such a fantastical farce. It was shrewd to play on people’s ideologies and political leanings but Elon is not a friend of liberty.

Billionaires also don’t give a **** about you or me either.

My feelings summed up as by Bill Barr:

Yes, of course he is a great visionary. This is what allowed Gates and Jobs to be very successful. There are some really ignorant takes on this topic. Does anyone really think Jobs programmed and built iphones? Does anyone really think Gates programmed the Windows OS himself? Why would anyone think Elon is sitting down doing all the complicated math and actually building the product? Engineers tend to be extremely fickle and myopic people. Its best to view visionaries in tech as cat herders.
Which leads to Twitter, which became overran with short sighted people once it became public ... thus Jack Dorsey had enough of the nonsense and left.

I really dont understand this free speech nonsensical argument. I find people, of all walks, greatly misuse the 'free speech' rhetoric. The core belief of free speech is to allow a person to openly express their belief on any subject. Inciting violence, disrupting, trolling, being a general *******, ect is not 'speech'. Its just being an *******. Twitter was actively suppressing people for expressing their opinions. And yes, there is a line between expressing ones opinion and simply (again, being disrupting) providing misinformation.

Again, it’s about this small government, libertarian, anti woke, free speech narrative that Elon has crafted for himself. He’s just another ******* billionaire who stood on the shoulders of the government and folks with actual technical knowledge.

And Elon played up that narrative to his own benefit.

Twitter is a platform with rules and TOS. You are right… there is a line between expressing an opinion and simply providing misinformation and Twitter had to make a decision.

The right loves to bring up Hunter Biden but like to ignore the role that Russia was playing spreading misinformation at the time and before. On the other hand, we have the election lies that keep flying on Twitter.

If SBF had donated only to the Republicans...you bet he wouldn't be shitposting on Twitter anymore right now.

Nah, but he'd def be canceled if he donated to some LGBTQ hating or fundie Christian groups.

Clear but close distinction that lets folks like Thiel or Larry Ellison maneuver around and still get their msg across.

Oops, he forgot CEOs were usually figureheads for the geeks in the background. Good luck car engineers and rocket scientists. You're about to get chewed out by the same master who broke his toy.

The mean spiritedness of folks like Elon or billionaire crypto bros is not a good look for geeks everywhere. The whole revenge/payback for past trauma plus the ever heaping God complex we put upon them (software will eat the world) has not paid much dividends on the "saving the world" front tech has largely promised.

I don't get what SBF has anything to do with Musk. Crypto has always been highly cryptic and speculative.

As for Musk, the man is a total megalomaniac - the idea that he expects his workers to put in 90 hours a week and sac their family lives to hold onto a job that doesn't have the big payoff Musk gets - is just nuts.

Musk doesn't seem like he knows what he is doing right now. Still, despite that, I wouldn't bet against him and still think he'll figure it out and Twitter will get its ship righted...but it could have been done without all the messy drama.

Elon buying a $44b company and then making it worth zero $ in record time is one of the great feat in history.

Do you remember when everyone thought Tilman was going to bankrupt and forced to sell the Rockets? This is what you sound like now.

Musk: Everyone must work in the office. We don't believe in remote work.

Also Musk: Offices are closed effective immediately (because I f***ed up and too many people quit)

I don't understand why you are going to such lengths to defend Musk during his Twitter catastrophe. Why bother?
