In college I would go to the hookah lounge but it was infrequent and I never really committed to it. Even back then they were conscientious of the safety of sharing a hookah so we had plastic mouth pieces. But no chance in hell I’d do it today.
Been a hookah smoker for 20 years. I used to go to a hookah bar at least once a week but have cut down the last couple years to about once a month, with the occasional home smoke. There is no shortage of great hookah spots in Houston, I regularly rotate between Wasfis, Dandanah, Maryz, Nara, and many others. La Pasha is probably the best one going right now. Don't go the "trendy" Heights or Midtown places, if a dance club is serving hookah it sucks. Hookah lounges are meant to be simple, quiet, and for socializing. If it is arab owned it's legit. I can't think of an activity I like better where I can sit, relax, and chat with friends for hours than a hookah session.
In my former life I used to go to Maryz basically everyday for a year. Would practice Arabic with the family who owns it. Good peoples. I actually own two but haven’t smoked in 10+ years.
I'm not much of a smoker, but hookah has always felt like something special to me, maybe because it's more of a social activity with friends. However, I've recently started exploring vaping as an alternative and picked up some elf bars from Nexus Smoke. Surprisingly, I've found it to be a better fit for me than hookah—it's just more convenient and still enjoyable. Since I'm new to vaping, I had a bunch of questions, and the contact Nexus Smoke support team was super helpful in getting me all the information I needed. They were patient and answered everything, making the transition smoother for me.
Funny . . . . I was first introduced to HOOKAH by Alice in Wonderland For years I wondered what that Caterpillar was smoking Rocket River
After watching an episode of "Bar Rescue" that centered on an establishment that never cleaned their hookahs, I'll pass. Those things probably aren't cleaned regularly enough and, if they are, then probably not well enough. But, never did care for it from the times I tried it.
lol . . . kind of like people complaining about having dirty crack needles Rocket River In for a Penny . . In for a Pound
