Somewhere between $8M and $22M per season. If you think that's a bit wide, it's because estimates are all over the place.

Assuming he meant Yankees out of the competition for Abreu which means good for Astros or any team after him

I wasn't clear. NYYs are out of the competition because they have their 1B.

I go 3 years 70 million on Abreu...

    Maybe 25 / 25 / 20...

Perhaps a buyout for 10 on year 3...

The analytics on him this year say his results should have been better based on launch angles, velo, etc.

I am hoping for Abreu or Bell like everyone else. Seems like either can be had on reasonable short term deals. Somewhat leaning Abreu as I know several Astros are friends with him especially Yuli. Still think we need Yuli back as a bench bat/part time DH/clubhouse guy/defensive 1st base replacement for 1 more season.

I assume he won't command much in the open market so I say over pay him if you have to. We have seen how important experience, cohesiveness and depth is these past couple of years so let's run it back with some new hungry additions.

Is there any CF worth a damn? To me that's our most pressing need. I'd run it back w the exact same team including Brantley and minus Diaz if we brought in a stud CF.

Overpay for someone’s 36, 37, 38 seasons. Also had a high BABIP so I expect some regression next year.
Give me Bell or Walker (trade), and bring back Verlander

Astros showing "interest" = Pressured Yankees sign Rizzo to a multi-year deal....now free to look at the remaining 1Bs. Stros plan all along?

BenOnDaTop is on Twitter implying that his sources say the Astros are signing Brandon Nimmo, as well as bringing back Brantley and Yuli. I'd be perfectly happy with that. Adding Nimmo to this lineup in CF would be SICK.

Jon Morosi needs to phrase his tweets better.

    "Justin Verlander to the Dodgers.."

    I felt many emotions.

This is just me, but if JV wants to go to the LAD all I can say is don't let the door hit your @$$ on the way out.

Just waiting for Crane to sign Judge to troll the F out of the Yankees. Win a few more rings and sign him to an 8 year deal so he can go into Cooperstown in an Astros hat.

I know it won’t happen but the NYY tears would be glorious.

Well the good news there is it would only affect us if we played the Dodgers in the world series. And we all know how world series J.V. can be.

While factually true based on cost to the Dodgers, there is no indication JV has any more or less interest than yesterday. The player is not concerned with the cost to the Dodgers, just whether it affects their offer to HIM IF they are a place he would consider going at all.
