I just don't see Demeco chosing to come here after the lawsuit. Otherwise, I think there's no way we wouldn't have interviewed him once in the last two years. Well, other than we wanted to hire a 60 year old wannabe/retread.
I don't see this job as attractive. Especially for a guy like Payton. I know there is a minority of people here that want us to try and win. I disagree. This is the first time I am actively rooting for my favorite team to lose. Why? Because coaching is one of the many things holding this team back. I don't trust the hiring process. It's been a sham. But if there's any sort of thing that can make us an attractive destination to a coach (and I don't know if there is), it's having the number one pick, and multiple first round picks in the next few years. As an aside, you look at the success some of these coaches are having that were hired in the last two years, and you think about the fact that none of them were ever serious candidates for our job, and man, whoever is running that hiring process should be fired. Even if it's Caserio. I'm assuming it wasore Easterby and Cal, but if it was Caserio, that's damning. You can draft good players till you're blue in the face, but a poor coaching staff will never allow those players to succeed. I'll be shocked if Cal and Nick even have the balls to fire Lovie after a year.

He's part of the reason why Texans are so shtty. If he wasn't so overpaid, he would've gotten what he wanted and traded away.
Bummer, absolutely none of us saw this coming when our GM-coach was gutting talent on the roster to instill a culture of mediocre obedience.
I agree, signing him to that contract shows their ineptitude as a front office, but it doesn't mean Cooks is not part of the problem and he needs to reflect on himself why he's no longer consider a leader of a team like this.
Yah I found it surprising since he actually started games for them. Why did they cut him? Texans should definitely get him as backup....Pierce going to be a 3 year rb with the way they use him.
