You can always count on Rockets fans to run down their own players and hype up draft prospects. Until the kids learns how to shoot a basketball, he's not a "generational prospect". Something that should be self explanatory.... but then we're talking about certain types of "special" Rockets fans.
Except they can't tank anymore. OKC starts getting our picks next year. They have no alternative but to try to be as good as they can be next season. They cannot benefit from losing.
Utah Jazz are wholely dependent on lauri markannen who nobody knew was this good. Give the Rox Markannen I'm sure they'd win a ton of games too.
While I do like what Markannen is doing right now, if he was on the Rockets with the dynamic duo of Silas/KPJ, then Markannen would be sitting in the corner waiting 100 years just to touch the ball, just like what's happening with Jabari.
It’s not that we need a of. It’s that KPJ wants to be a traditional pg. he needs to play like he played at the end of last season. We don’t need him to be harden or cp3. Our best games have been when the pg isn’t trying to be magic Johnson
Silas was brought in for Harden because of what he did with Luka in Dallas. Stop trying to turn KPj into Luka or harden!!!
Even if I agree that Alperen should initiate the offense - that doesn't mean we can't use a great playmaking PG as well. It's not like Jokic and the Nuggets don't benefit from Murray. As for your other point - we can't tank next season because we don't own our pick. It was always a 3 year tanking project, that could have ended earlier, if the young players were more special than anticipated. After this season we should have 3 Top 5 picks (hopefully top 3) and some mid 1st rounders as well. If that doesn't work we need a new scouting department. I know you don't believe in tanking. I don't believe the Rockets have much of a choice. We lucked out with Harden and still didn't get to the championship - we missed out on several key FAs because we are Houston, Teams like us need to draft their stars or get really lucky. And statistically your odds of drafting a star is higher, the higher you draft. It's far from an exact science, but the alternative is a team like the Wizards or the Knicks...
DEAFEATISM at its finest! learned helplessness I NAILED IT! o yes buddy rockets do have a choice ..just need to be smart with it and exercise the right ones... in fact when you tank you have no choice...and you signed defeat already.... why do you even need stars? Minnesota 76er and other trash teams have stars in abundance... did them no good oth more then often stars are created rather then being drafted...anyone can be developed into a star in this league... just need the coaching and hard work...sometimes not even that and this is what we actually see every year in nba because the same player may be a star on one team and a total trash on another... as for alternative being wizards or knicks LOL its 2 dumbest teams and they did thanking thing as well... not tanking is not a licence for being dumb....if youre a dumb team then youre maybe better off by tanking than not... this is in fact teams recipe to replace expertise, iq and hard work..just lose and try too stumble into something...lolololl as they said in sopranos you transformed a beautiful game of skill into a game of pure luck.... what you claim in fact it is better to wait for 50 years and luck into lebron jordan type than to play competitive basketball...and competitive basketball is the only basketball there is... tanking is the anti sport... this is absurd but this is what follows from the doctrine of the tank... and no you dont stop at year five...look at philly... how much hope put had in embiied... oh its a hakeem with 3 pt shot....and hes nobody in this league...2nd round exits at best...every damn year you tank 50 years straight.....this is if the way if the tank logic is consistent...
this is what 76ers thought... embiied was wemby before wemby.. and look at them now... beyond pathetic losers... this is the way of defeatism and inferiority complex! we are poor...... we are stupid...... we are helpless....we can do no good THERES NO SUBSTITUTE FOR HARD WORK! THERES NO SUBSTITUTE FOR THE TOIL!
There’s been so many prospects just like Scoot that completely bust in the NBA. Everyone acting like he’s a sure thing lol.
1st option - Yes - take Scoot instead of Wemby (unless BKN is in the lottery and wins the 2nd pick...then take both!) 2nd option - Nah, take Wemby
Cool. The Rockets nor me agree with you. As has been stated to you several times Wall’s contract being done coincides with the Rockets when they no longer have control over their pick. Stone seems to be doing amazing although it’s still not a sure thing obviously. Next year and beyond you can then come in here after they are good team and complain about something else too. I’ll enjoy watching Sengun, Eason, Green, Jabari, 2023 Drafted player, and 2023 free agent, Garuba, Christopher, TyTy improve year after year hopefully with experience and continuity. It’s hunorous that you throw random opinions out there like Joel Embid was jusss likeeee Victor W before the draft baahahahaha
Sengun averaged 2.6 ast/gm last year and he's down to 2.0 ast/gm this year. We complain about KPJ being inefficient with the ball because his AST/TO is only 1.43. While that's terrible efficiency, it's still much better than Sengun's efficiency. Last year Sengun's Ast/TO ratio was 1.28. This year it's slipped to 1.05 - basically he's getting the same number of assists and turnovers (22 assists and 21 turnovers). I get it that people want to think that Sengun is the next Jokic when it comes to passing, but so far he hasn't shown it. It's not like he's racking up assists and he's been super inefficient with the ball. Jokic's worst AST/TO ratio was his rookie year and it was 1.82 and every other season of his career, he's been over 2.0. Sengun isn't anywhere close to that. Last year, Schroeder, KPJ, Gordon, Green and Tate all averaged more assists per game and had a better AST/TO ratio than Sengun. This year, KPJ, Gordon, Green Tate and Nix all average more assists and have a better AST/TO ratio that Sengun. Regardless of what anyone thinks of KPJ, Green and Sengun aren't currently candidates be the primary ball handlers. Sengun has been really good scoring and rebounding the ball. Be happy with that.
Y’all crazy. You draft Wemby and make him play point guard before passing on generational talent and taking Scoot.
