Everybody would have more assists if everyone made more shots. We counting missed shots from passes for KPJ or for everyone?

Rockets shot better overall and from three than the Pels.

Part of being pg is making enough good passes to get your teammates in better position to score whether it’s the assist or hockey assist.

Rockets shot well enough than for the starting pg to have 3 assists. Maybe if he’s not turning it over as much or taking bad shots those could be assist opportunities.

Some were bad. I'm not worried about the turnovers much. Every ball handler will have them. I'm more worried that we can't hit open threes when we have the chance. It kills the work done by Porter Jnr or Green who suck in the defence and open the floor up.

it is just a fact. You can only get an assist if a player hits a shot. that is why there is no point to saying a player only had a certain amount of assists. It is a stat that rely's on others making shots. Porter Jnr had 22 assists in his previous 2 games, so he was in form in setting up shots coming in to tonight.

I used to see staredowns between skinny dudes yet to shave in high school like this. We had a Vietnam vet drivers Ed teacher and a 300lb world civ teacher with a championship ring from the University of Tennessee football team that would neutralize those looks real quick. I hope every kid is as lucky to have some of the teachers to look up to that I had. Not to mention the paddle in Jr High that was about the size of a baseball bat.

I can’t imagine KPJ being a PG on a team with aspirations who’s actually trying to win games

to me he’s a “u got the best handles on the team so u play the 1” PG…a “well, somebody’s gotta do it” PG…now I’m just waiting to see if the organization feels the same way or if they actually view him as a legit PG option and our PG of the future in which case I will weep and have anger issues

a SG who’s a nice secondary playmaker that can play the 1 for stretches on a good team is similar to a Devin Booker…I’d be happy with that level of playmaking from Jalen Green in the future

The Rockets want to share the ball around. Sengun is a big part of this because, the ball goes to him the most in the front court if he is out there. Tonight he got in foul trouble, so they couldn't do that much. Green and Porter Jnr will look to each other to start the offence the other times.

If you watched tonight game, you would know even Nix has more pass than KPJ this game.

I mean, u should be worried when your PG is averaging 6 assists and 4 turnovers a game

if he were Harden averaging 10 assists a game and 20-30 points while controlling the rock then that would be 1 thing

No basketball team on this planet can win a game if their PG combines 3 assists and 7 TO. As simple as that.
Another awful night for the KPJ/PG experiment.
It is not the KPJ’s fault, it is the fault of those who continue to insist on this aberration.

This is exactly what bad teams do!
    Did we not know that?

Rockets shot 50.6% from the field. Denver is currently leading the league in fg% with 49.7%. So rockets shot good. You can't just expect players make every ball KPJ passes to them.

Today KPJ was beyond bad. And seriously if he had 7 assists and 2 turnovers it would still be quite bad. Because he just stops the ball, everybody starts to take contested shots because nobody gets the ball in a natural flow. And then the off ball movement stops, because it becomes meaningles. And the shots get even worse. The turnovers were icing on the cake, something that indicates further problems about his game, his mindset. And it was quite a contrast how Nix and the big 3(KJ-Garuba-Tari) played.

We have three potential Star players : Green, Sengun and Jabari. All this year we need to develop these players but they need a point guard to play with them now. I also think we will pick at least 5th in this up coming draft and he will be a potential Star player.

I mentioned before in this thread. That should be the thinking of KPJ too. Moving the ball is for bench players.
