Dems seem to push less popular issues than Cons.

Might be a problem with events that win popular votes...

It appears that reports that Americans didn't care about preserving it as an issue were greatly exaggerated. They did care about that and abortion as well.

It was a goodish day for democracy. The people care about Democracy and voted against the election deniers.

Exit poll: 68% said democracy was somewhat to very theatened

Denying The 2020 Election Wasn’t A Winning Strategy For Political Newcomers
Perhaps most meaningfully, voters almost universally rejected election deniers who ran for secretary of state, an office that is typically a state’s top election official and responsible for administering elections, enforcing election laws and certifying results. Having a secretary of state who doesn’t accept the results of the last democratic election, with a total lack of evidence of fraud, raises questions about whether or not they would act to overturn the results of a future election — even without evidence.

Just waiting on the older generation to die off, and the younger generation to pick up the torch, and that will move the country in a better direction.

Concessions are a Silver lining to this? :

Experts said the concession, mundane as it may seem, is a vital ingredient to the health of any democracy.

“Accepting defeat means acknowledging that facts matter, that the will of voters matters, that reality-based thinking can prevail,” said Ruth Ben-Ghiat, a history professor at New York University who studies fascism and is the author of “Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, 167 of 291 election deniers identified by The Post were projected to have won. Nearly 40 races had not been called.

The Post identified candidates as election deniers if they directly questioned Biden’s victory, opposed the counting of Biden’s electoral college votes, expressed support for a partisan post-election ballot review, signed on to lawsuits seeking to overturn the 2020 result, or attended or expressed support for the Stop the Steal rally in Washington that preceded the riot at the Capitol.

Texans have done that with the Alamo for almost 200 years. It isn't really that pathetic.

The wing nuts just crack me up. Like caricatures. Just waiting for some memes and irrelevant political cartoon so I can see what they really think.

Idk, the lionization of the Alamo has always seemed a bit pathetic. But I suppose the alternative is glorifying the massacre at San Jacinto, which isn't a good look either.

History has always celebrated valiant losers. In some ways those are more romantic than overwhelming winners. Consider the Spartans at Thermopylae, the Jews at Masada, and even the Greeks idolized the Trojans although it was their ancestors that won the Trojan war.

Even more relevant to today the continued interest in the Civil War especially the Southern Side
