PER can be a flawed stat

lower number is the better defensive number, not highest.

The funny thing about Silas is he keeps taking Sengun out of these close games for what he says is defense. But we still lose all these games so why not just leave him in?

    you can't win

some people want us to lose for a better draft pick....and when we do lose, the same people still complain about losing.

People just see his raw numbers and think he is playing good. He mostly is on one end, the other end he gives the points back because he is mostly easy to score against. his athleticism gets shown up at times on that end of the court. He has improved not fouling, but he still gets tricked at times to bite on a pump fake

I don't see how anyone can be pissed at Silas. I see clear improvement from this team.

Totally disagree with this take. He's mostly at least always in the right position on defense. Helps out but the problem is the rest of the team is too small so when he does help we get killed in offensive boards cuz no one picks up his man. The team defense is just horrendous overall. Go back and watch end of Memphis game. Sengun did the best job of any big we had of containing Ja at the end. The coaches just don't know what they are looking at.

Taking him out makes our offense soo bad what's the point of it? Cuz even if we can get stops we can't score.

The three guard lineup of Porter Green and Gordon should just not be played anymore. He's gotta be out there with KJ or Eason.

The problem is, he gets jumped over because at times his lack of athleticism shows out. He gets almost a lot of his rebounds on the offensive end, he is great at boxing out on that end and cleaning up misses. When his offensive rating is bad in a game, people still defend him though.

Jabari is just now rounding back into form since Training Camp. He was the leading scorer going into the 4th qtr, so I'm not sure of this guys angle.

What's NOT being talked is KPJpassing up a good shot to get his teammates a BETTER SHOT. The last 2 games, since they had a two day break and time to practice, they have looked MUCH BETTER both offensively and defensively!

You all know how I felt about Silas but these last 2 games have been what I'm looking for!

    Nice Tombstone quote

Anyone with a modicum of context and intelligence can take PER for what it is.

You are pointing out something that everyone is already aware. We ALL get it! That’s the point!

does kpj and green having 0 deflections and being bad on defense also shows lack of their athleticism and size?

…..and the sky is blue. Silas has been haunted by turnovers since he took the job. The team with the fewest turnovers in two team NBA competition wins approximately 90% of the time. We need a legit point guard or we will continue to go 1-10 every 11 games. Haven’t had one since Paul. This not a knock on KPJ who is a great player….just not a point guard as they are known for dribbling and passing skills (and free throw shooting). Same issue with Nix - turnovers. TyTy appears to have some skills, so we’ll see what he does in the G- League.

Lol some of the same fans complain about KPJ having tunnel vision and then they only focus on his mistakes and arbitrary stats like deflections when it suits the 1 game sample size. Everyone else can screw up at will with hardly a peep.

Here I thought the team and fans were making some inroads! :D:D:D:D:D KPJ is 20th in the NBA in deflections by the way!

I think they had to figure things out, sometimes it takes time. Similar to when Phoenix found their grove in the bubble. It just takes time.

And not saying your boy Alpi didn't play well, because he did but I thought they played well down the stretch, minus the turnovers. I think in Silas's mind he was trying to slow down Van Fleet. But right now it's all about learning and getting better.

Man, I wish I can like this post a THOUSAND TIMES! I always thought it was about the team, not one individual player.

These last two games, I really thought KPJ picked up his passing, looking to find his teammates more and these fans are still complaining.

    NOW IT'S DEFLECTIONS.
