Nix took all of Christopher's minutes because at least pretends to be a point guard. Christopher refusal to play point doomed him

I think Christopher will be playing quite a lot again by the end of the season. After some sort of trade.

Funny people get upset when we lose. Is it a surprise? Everyone loves to couch coach lol. Our pg sucks. We are inexperienced. Smith can’t shoot. Jalen not featured in this offense. Matthews sucks. But Sengun was playing hard. Eason was playing hard. Jabari was trying to do other things for the team to win even if shot not falling. So let’s be content with that.

The negativity again...come on people, we were in a game against a very good defensive team (6th), long, athletic and very switchable players off the bench and in the starting line-up. This game was great, if a few of the missed bunnies by our guys are makes then you might win this game. There were several times we could've hung our heads and we got back in it. We played great for stretches, KPJ was actively looking for guys instead of first looking to score and then pass it as a last resort - 11 assists to prove it - and our bench mob of Tari, Martin & Garuba were excellent. I can forgive those misses by Tari with his 5 steals, hustle and energy he brought. Garuba had some great reads and passes again. Sengun was dropping them too. Did you see the pass he caught on offense and immediately threw it over his head backwards to Martin? Awesome stuff! Martin was again everywhere, dunks and blocks galore. Garuba and Sengun got in on that party too. And even Jabari got better looks and at least tried to be more than just a standstill guy. The one time he talks thrash and he gets a T was kind of annoying.

If anything you can be a bit down on is Green & Jabari...on defense for the most part. My god does Green get easily blown by and Harden like when he has to keep up with his man who's running around. Jabari I'm surprised by, surely he will get better once he gets more comfortable, but he makes mistakes a guy with his lateral quickness and long ass arms shouldn't make, mainly reaching in and jumping wildly for rebounds and blocks instead of boxing out and just stand his ground. Overall as a team we're pretty focused on just jumping for rebounds rather than boxing out and looking for people to guard. There was one play where we had 4 guys in the paint and we still allowed Ochuwa I believe to get the rebound, easily too, he didn't even have to work for it. Besides that, this game had a lot of good and it's definitely progress. The only one who needs to catch up quicker is Silas. Granted, he played certain guys together longer and certain combinations he didn't try before or didn't give much of a chance, but his in game management is frustrating. No time-outs, no adjustments when our guys go rogue or to the opponent's adjustments and questionable minute distribution. Just not head coach material.

We had a great showing and played as a team 70% of the time. Heroball is hard to get out of one’s system once it’s there.

What happened is the more then focused head coach understanding his assignment Silassed the game. Big picture-> higher draft picks-> better talent-> brighter future = lose today. Lots of growth in our youth and saw an offensive system that worked.

penny pinching will get you nailed down to the floor of western conference for decades
justs like last year when we got nothing for the vets(because we depreciated their value by losing) and lost valuable playing time for the young who will be getting PT only when its their turn to be traded away... this is how bad team stay bad forever

sengun was the best player and he was carrying us but he got in foul trouble and silas had to sit him so we lost in the end...
still never mind hes got all that unused fouls to use in the next decade when we will be contenders...

    ah it was that?!
and i thought it was the foul trouble... silly me...

its always gross and hilarious when the rockets and silas(and rockets/silas apologists) who absolutely care about no basketball principle, fundamental, tactic or strategy, or even winning basketball games, start citing some delicate and subtle tactical manuevers for benching Sengun...LOLOLOLOLOL

    Another revealing defensive stat:
Porter 40 minutes - zero deflections
Green 40 minutes - zero deflections
    Gordon 28 minutes - 2 deflections
    KMJ 22 minutes - 1 deflection
    D. Nix 7 minutes - 2 deflections
    Sengun 30 minutes - 1 deflection
    Jabari 30 minutes -1 deflection
    Eason 21 minutes - 7 deflections

You can either play station-to-station, hoping to stay in front of your man, or grab the ball and dictate play.
Toronto with 16 deflections (11 by Fleet, Anunoby, and Porter Jr).

Not to call out Green too much, but he only has two deflections in November. My suggestion: if you're going to turn the ball over on 20% of your possessions (his going rate), you might as well try to win the ball back by showing some energy on D. It's bad enough to be lulled to sleep and beaten off the dribble, but anyone can play with intensity and deny a passing lane. It just takes effort.

u are reading it wrong, the lower the defensive rating, the better your defense is. I wasn't able to catch the game, but according to the defensive rating, sengun was one of the worse one on defense apparently.

it looked like the team utilized him more in the PNR so that's a plus.
