    This is a Houston site

    But an Astros section

    The Rockets have their own

But I apologize. That was not called for.

I always a crappy poll results in a landslide.

Thus was truly a crappy and worthless poll.

you're still talking about the rockets going against what was BY FAR the best nba team that has ever been assembled (and likely ever will be assembled because it took an unconscionable amount of luck and ineptitude for this to even happen once).

Don’t want to take anything away from Yordan or Peña but this series was won by pitching.

The Phillies slugged their way through the playoffs and other than games 1 and 3 we shut down that potent offense.

Off the field - Mattress Mack incident, changed up the juju.

On the field - Game 5 8th Inning, Pressly getting out of that jam. He was the MVP of the series in my book.

The no hitter iced the Phillies down. They were essentially done after that and you could tell they knew it.

The Rockets were brought up to prove a point that the team with best record doesn't always win it. Another poster on here kept bringing up the Dodgers winning over a 100 games every year. My point was the season is still a failure if you have championship expectations and you fall short of that. The great regular season means nothing if you are a contender that consistently underachieves. We Houstonians have been spoiled by the recent success but we forget about all the heartache and collapses for our sports teams after the mid 90s. Prior to 2017 being a Houston sports fan was brutal at times. That happens when the last title you remember was when you were 6 years old. I used the 2017 Rockets as an example because they had the best record but did not win the title.

Game 5, easily. Last year, the Astros dropped both close games in games 3 and 4, both extremely ugly games where the bats did nothing. Gutting out that win defined the series. If I had to chose a single moment, it’s when Pressley got out of the 8th, or the McCormick catch.

    Is it Game 5 easily if 4 wasn't a W ???

Is it easily if the series wasn't tied??

Game 4 set the tone. The "turn"

Only twice in WS history despite 500+ opportunities

To an undefeated home team whose strength was hitting

Great Philly crowd.... boo your team

many of us were experiencing the heartbreak way before you were 6. My childhood was the entire 80’s. It was all heartbreak. Nobody is forgetting how tough the road has been in the past, especially those of us in the 40 and over club. Around the time you were 6, we had already been through it over and over. Also, my point stands that NBA and MLB playoffs are very different. The MLB playoffs are so much harder to predict. The best team losing is fairly common. This is not true with the NBA usuallly. The Dodgers winning 100+ games every year is quite an accomplishment. There are many teams that simply never do that once. To do it consistently is pretty amazing.

In hindsight, the series never turned; the Phillies were never in it. Watched every inning, and the Astro pitching was relentless in a way I've never seen. The whole team was determined and not to be denied.

It took incredible, unexpected plays in Game 1 for the Phillies to comeback and hold on. Of course, the unfortunate pitch tipping in Game 3. Otherwise, the Phillies were flailing all series long.
