The old rule is that until it is signed and DELIVERED, it is not a Contract. It is a negotiation when dealing with property which does not recognize verbal contracts. Perhaps an employment contract is different.

I lived in Houston in the 70s and there was no doubt that it was a uniquely Texan city. I can not speak to what it is like now but I loved every minute I spent there then.

The rapid growth of the 70s was a transition from a deeply rooted Texas Proud City to a destination spot for those seeking employment. Some change was for the better and some was not.

I have always been a Proud Texan and Proud of our independent ways. So I haven't like the trend since Whitmire decided to try to turn Houston into Atlanta 2.0.

Astros got the better transaction from the Braves today.

Why are all of your posts deep rooted in racsism?

Houston is a much better city now than it was in the 70’s. With context.

I moved to Oklahoma early in 76 so I guess I missed most of those changes. I can tell you that I had never experienced any example of racism in Houston or anyplace else like I did in Oklahoma. My job kept me there for ten years and a day never went by that I did not learn some new reason that people hated each other.

From what I have heard, everyone in the organization has been aware of it for sometime. Both men have been heard yelling at each other. We all know Crane can be cold, but supposedly Click isn’t the mild mannered guy we see on television either. So it’s an interesting dynamic.

I think they can survive annoying each other, political differences and personality differences. What I don’t think they can survive is a lack of respect or confidence in each other.

So far Crane has shown to have excellent instincts and Click has shown capable of acting calm under fire. The fact he held onto guys like Valdez, Javier, McCormick, Garcia and others shows he has confidence in himself.

If there is mutual interest between Crane and Stearns, a deal will get done. I just don’t know if Stearns has any interest.

No one in that clubhouse or front office was sad to see him go. He was a total jerk.

Not sure the point of that, unless you speak Spanish.

Their best candidate is now with the Giants. There are others that are viewed as future GM’s but are very young. Andrew Ball and Scott Powers would be the two most obvious choices. If you want someone that is very well thought of but would be a shock, Sarah Gelles would be my guess. She is very smart and aggressive. She is in charge of all R&D for the Astros and also is well respected for being able to judge character well.

Where in the title “ASTROS OFF-SEASON” did you see an invitation to interject your political views, wholly unsolicited by the way?

You went out of your way to respond to an article containing quotes by James Click and throw out your political views.

Just stop already. Go to the D and D section and air all your crap out there.

I’m aware, but he isn’t running the Brewers at this point, Arnold is. If Stearns really wants to run the Astros and Crane wants him, it will happen.

He is a good GM, but he made some mistakes in Milwaukee too.
