This isn't helpful info. We need to know how many showed up. We already know who they support.

I think doing whatever work that can be done to empower local communities in Texas and Georgia, regardless as to whether there's an election cycle or not, will be doing what's best for the citizens of Georgia and Texas. I think if enough people in both states notice a sincere concern for their well being from Democrats, regardless of election cycle, it'll lead to the type of grassroot change necessary to truly change their minds long term over which party is more likely to look out for their best interests at heart.

If the goal is truly to empower and improve communities struggling the most in these states, much can still be done regardless of elected office position in government. And if much is addressed to improve communities struggling most in spite of both state's elected officials, again it'll only demonstrate which party truly has their citizens best interest at heart. That's how you legitimately restore faith in candidates running for elected positions. Do the good and right work necessary regardless of election cycle with respect to the amount of power you wield in making real tangible positive changes for your community.

How far as the center moved to the right for the GOP, though? That’s the question. I haven’t voted for a Red candidate in four years because I just don’t trust them to not support some wild crazy **** to get into or stay in office.

The one thing Beto has is national recognizability with Dem voters. My dad and step-mom in MN love him and he was recently part of a skit on SNL. That’s why I think he should pull back into a role where his past foibles in Texas that alienated more conservative voters can fade a bit.

I believe the Dems got a big boost last night by this group of unmarried women where the abortion issue is why they turned out in huge numbers.

Not likely. Gullibility and social media are only going to produce more extremism I'm afraid.

Yea Beto and Abrams still have their roles regardless of the election cycle. Let them build their brands by continuing to do legitimate positive community work in both states and demonstrate they care about their communities regardless of elected office position. It would only further demonstrate how they'd have operated if they were elected into office over their inert counterparts that won and continue to do nothing for their communities.

That's the money question I suppose.

How cleanly and quickly can the GOP divorce itself from Trump?

They dumped Bush Jr so fast it was like he almost never existed.

Trump will not go quietly into that good night.

Right. Trumpers really are a cult with Trump as their leader. People don't get it. It's a true cult that transcends politics.

Bush was just a rich dude who said, ah, ok, **** it, I'm rich, old and it's time to retire.

Not sure if there are any moderate GOP House members left, but if there are, Biden should start offering them various perky positions in the administration. (Ambassador to Tahiti?)

Yeah - this will be an interesting phenomenon. How many of these "GOPers" are really now just "Trumpsters". Remember, a lot of these were former working class Dems - who knows if they really have any loyalty to the GOP outside of Trump.

seeing a lot of GOP talk saying not to blame Trump as he is their best fundraiser and the RINOs like McConnell didn't do enough to support the candidates

Trump was definitely NOT their best fundraiser. He raised lots of funds, but he kept it all for himself.

He had a joint fundraising email with Blake Masters. For every $1 raised, Trump got $0.99 and Masters got $0.01.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2022/10/27/trump-donations-99-to-1-00063825

He also spends $0.91 for every $1 he raises. So he's just really a fundraiser for whatever consulting firms/etc he uses.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...ents-to-raise-each-dollar-as-troubles-mounted

Trump Spent 91 Cents to Raise Each Dollar as Troubles Mounted
    • Trump spent $22 million to raise $24 million, filing shows
    • SMS, digital ads and lists ate up most of third-quarter haul

Interestingly, betting markets give Dems about the same chance to hold the House as they give the GOP to get the Senate (about 20% in each case). I would have thought higher chances for the GOP in both cases.
