I was too poor for JNCO and had to wear Walmart Wranglers instead. Now I wear bespoke from London. And The Gap.
You know they're sitting in the back rooms saying stuff like "let's see what the stupidest crap we can come up with is that they'll still pay crazy money for..." * EDIT * : I guess they're still around... oh man, I needed the laugh : https://jnco.com/ lolol... $250 (on sale) for "The Thug" https://jnco.com/collections/collectors-edition/products/thug-50-dark-stone
Had a pair of JNCO shorts gifted to me once. Thought I was the coolest. Otherwise, it was Walmart Wranglers for me as well.
I could never afford those. I had some really cool jeans from Weiner's that had a matador on one back pocket and a charging bull on the other one. Don't think those ran even $30. Never lived those down, but they'd probably fit in with some of the stuff I see nowadays. Man, it's hell being poor sometimes. LOL. Back in those days, I drooled the day my mom got me a pair of "real jeans" - some Jordache. It was the only Jordache/Sergio Valente jeans I ever had. My dad was like "those jeans better last you until you're 50". lol. Nowadays all I buy are Levi's if they're on sale or I can find a good coupon. I see people digging up 100 year old Levi's from junkyards and estate sales because they're collector's items now and sell for hundreds.
JNCO jeans must be making the rounds on the Internet again. I agree with this link somebody just sent me that I don't remember those things being all that popular, but who knows. By that time I had gotten a job and probably didn't know what was going on in "fashion".
I wish I had kept them (not really), but the best things I ever bought from Weiners were a pair of Giorgio Brutini sneakers. I remember they had patches of fake snakeskin or something on them. They looked great for about 2 months until they started falling apart. What do you expect for around $20, I suppose...
they used to starch JNCO's with a crease. It was a simpler time. The Hispanics and Asians were wildn back in the day.
speaking of growing up poor in the hood, yall remember ProWings shoes? damn, kids would clown on you for wearing those lol
I would still rock some Girbauds they are kind of timeless from what I remember, not the same with Z Cavariccis. I have started wearing a lot of wranglers since they are cheap and have different styles.
