It's clearly going to take a couple years for him to blossom. Right now, his shot is off, but more than that he just looks lost. So he's not as "ready" as Banchero. Okay. I still think he possesses the physical tools to be at minimum a Tier 1 supporting player.
After 11 professional games, I can say with certainty that he is probably not a bust. This is a ridiculous post. Ask again after 2 seasons and I’ll give a serious opinion, but by then, you’ll already know the answer. you don’t HAVE to post if you don’t have anything to say.
What!!!! Same time last year, everybody was saying Jalen was a BUST. People just CALM DOWN it's only 11 games.
15 and 10 is pretty good as not many players have done that. I think Jabari is more like a 14 and 8 once he gets his shot to go down. I can’t really see him averaging 20 with his skill set which is primarily taking jumpers. He’ll need post up moves and the ability to take it one on one which he hasn’t shown he can do even while he was in college. I think we all can agree Banchero has nearly every move in the book and as unique as he is on offense is just breaking 20 a game.
If we draft Wimby - Smith is redundant and with far less impact. Wimby with 4 other hyper athletic players who can all shoot would be nice.
His ceiling is the 3rd best player on legit championship contender. Or would you prefer the best player of a playoff contender which is Paolo's ceiling I may have digressed but Cade Cunningham is still the best prospect to build around over the last two draft class
Cuz he bricks all his shots, 1/4 tonight and you want more shots for him? Of course his teammates gonna ice him, they wanna win the game. All these victimization needs to stop, if Jabari wants more shots he should make more shots and try harder on the court. 1 reb in 20 misn for a 6'11 pf tells you all you need to know. Jabari at this point is only starting cuz
This is a good point. Rocket fans are looking at it from the POV of wanting Jabari to be succesful and look better. His teammates also want the same but they're playing real life basketball. They want to win, they are probably frustrated with his bricking and turnovers. Of course they're going to lose trust in him. Do I agree with it? No because I want Jabari to get better and it's hard to do with lack of touches but I understand why they would be hesitant to pass him the ball.
If you're surprised one of the youngest players in the NBA is struggling to open his rookie season on a tough schedule, then you're not thinking. He's going to have an excellent rookie season that started very rough and it's so obvious.
It's important to consider the fact that the Rockets have the toughest starting schedule in the league, and likely one of the toughest starting schedules in NBA history. The Rockets faced teams that are unexpectedly good this season (Jazz/Portland) which further increased their schedule difficulty. The Rockets opponents so far have a combined record of 57-28. 6 of their 11 games are against opponents that are top 4 in their conference. Not to mention, 11 out their first 15 games are on the road. Only 2 out of their 11 games so far are against an opponent below .500 (Wolves and Magic). A heavy road schedule doesn't just mean reduced rest, but reduced practices as well. Judging our young players, especially the rookies, based on this current schedule is unfair.
Ankle Injury and Flu Cold are not excuses for Jabari Smith. People need to calm down, He is going to a Transcendent Player as a Stretch Four
