Tari's skill set fits Silas roll the ball out and hoop style of play. Bari needs to be set up and nobody feeds him the ball. If anything, I think Tari could be even better than he is now with a better coach. I think Bari will be just fine once we fire Silas. Look how Silas has nerfed everyone's ability so far: KPJ is not a PG - he is an elite off ball guard with elite off ball skills Silas wanted to put Sengun on the bench because he didn't want him to be the passing big man that he is Garuba was behind Boban for goodness sake Jalen was in the corner for his rookie season - also has to get alot of his points in iso without Sengun KJ is playing out of his mind is still currently behind Tate Gup has to prove himself AGAIN is behind Gary in the lineup I think Bari will be fine. With all the dumb stuff that Silas does, Bari will have to find a way until Silas is fired. You have to bully silas into doing the bare minimum.
It’s 11 games. Remember all of Clutchfans thought Josh Christopher was better than Jalen Green for the first 2 months of the season
That was also because Josh was the Tari of last season. He was just hair on fire go out and do whatever player while Jalen was in the corner. Hopefully Tari's sophomore season doesn't follow the same trajectory as Gup.
Personally, I think it's because he's been in and out of the lineup and hasn't gotten his rhythm back. People tend to forget about how he played in his first Pre-Season game. After which, he got hurt and he's been in and out of the lineup since. So we need to give him time. But my main point was, I find it amusing these threads about WHO'S BETTER, THIS PLAYER OR THAT PLAYER OR THIS PLAYER? THIS PLAYER IS THE BEST ON THE TEAM.....MY POINT IS EVERYBODY PLAYS A ROLE. SO ITS ABOUT THE TEAM, NOT INDIVIDUALS Some fans think their favorite player won the game by himself but they forget that Sengun had 20 and 10, Jalen had 34, KPJ had 11 assist, KJ made play after play and Eason made plays as well.....it takes a team!
I get that. My question was more speculation than trying to be divisive. I honestly felt like they are really similar in their skillets since Tari is showing he can shoot the three too. It came about because clearly Jabari is struggling, but Tari seems to be able to make some kind of impact when he's in the game just from hustle. I keep seeing people comment Tari reminds them of Kawhi. So it's interesting to see if Tari will excel and actually become a star 2-way player, and to see if Jabari just stays at his floor which is still a good solid role player.
Are you trying to make these things related? Or what is the point of mentioning both in the same post? EXPLAIN YOUR POOR DECISIONS. Edit: Jabari's ceiling: Chris Bosh. Jabari's median outcome: Tristan Thompson. Jabari's floor: Brian Cook. Tari's ceiling: Paul George. Tari's median outcome: Andre Iguodala. Tari's floor: Trevor Ariza.
I don't know what team you guys are watching. Jabari Smith gets shots: (1) at high volume ( 3rd on team, more than Sengun) (2) mostly open. ( > 66% wide open or open) (3) not at the end of the shot clock > 90% with 7 seconds or more) He misses them. A LOT. He is underperforming expected eFG by a ridiculous margin given the quality of looks he gets. Saying he's young and maybe he'll get better is a valid thing to say @DreamShook . Saying he doesn't get shots, or that they are low quality attempts, is just objectively wrong
Because if the trend continues the way it is now then Tari would have the better career. But most of us (due to draft placement and scouting) believe Jabari should become an elite star player which would accurately place Jabari with the better career
Sam put me on ignore bro. Jalen Green was also statistically the worst rookie in his first year because Silas wasn't using his strengths. The type of shots matter i dont care how open. We are just going to have to disagree.
You can't say "he never gets any open looks" when he objectively gets more than anyone on the roster. It's not opinion it's just fact.
The fact that Tari doesn't need plays called to score and make something happen on the floor should tell everyone here who has the brighter future.
Tari went low supposedly for low iq. WTF who pays these idiot scouts to do their job? He has one of the best feels/bballiq i have seen from a 19yo. He is always where the ball is coming, makes all the correct reads, knows when to shoot, pass, screen, roll, pop, backcut… he is what we thought we get in Jabari and Jabari is who we thought Tari is
Eason is special while Smith is elite. Both have a place on our roster. With a different coaching they will look more refined. Moving forward Smith will more than likely turn into a 5, while Eason is of a 3ish type. Apple & Pears. The Rockets new coach will bring in a new system.
