I think RGV would do Jabari a lot of good on quite a few fronts. He can learn the system, work on his body and get back confidence in his shot. Right now he’s drowning out there and that can be detrimental to his development.
The Magic front office deserves tons of credits for selecting Banchero over Jabari? Oh the Thunders are also smart AF...
I think it's wayyy too early to write him off, he's shown flashes on offense: especially decent long range shooting, he needs to work on his handles & learn to cut to the rim better, he doesn't need an elite post game like Paolo to be an elite 2 way player: it'll come w/ time & experience.
I mean I really wasn't paying attention much to the prospects but from everything I heard people assumed Jabari was the best talent of the class. But I honestly don't know how that assumption formed.
Different players. Jabari is a 20 year NBA workhorse. As he develops, you'll see more of his offense round out, but he is a plus defender out of the gate. He only took 4 shots tonight and he's unlikely to be your number 1 scoring option, unless he develops very quickly. Today was a good example of how his body is young for this league and Banchero has an NBA ready body.
Also, different nights get different assignments. I think they played him on the 3 and D role tonight and he was focused on D. He is also being given the rookie treatment but he might be playing a little soft. Zero FT attempts the past 3 games and only 18 FT attempts all season. This will change.
Yeah because it's really hard to drive and attack when you are being guarded by Paul George, Jrue Holiday vs 19 year olds. We have been playing mostly seasoned vets on playoffs teams, it's asking a lot for Green to just score on them usually without much set up.
Not at the moment though. Maybe later but he's even not that good of a defender and gets pushed around. He has shown flashes and obviously his body will strengthen more. Nut as of now he isn't even doing the intangibles thing which obviously is a hard thing to ask a 19 year old to do.
I am fine if Jabari has 3/15 shots. He is trying to play at least. 3pts and 1 rebounds seems like he gives up on the court.
Only complaint I have from Jabari tonight was the 1 rebound. Orlando is a long team and he got pushed around in the paint.
Something wrong if your rookie scores so i think he is still deferring the ball, like how green was when he came into the league. it really irked me how much green deferred to wood and kpj last season. Who knows, the season is still long
