If you have Tari, Jabari and Wemby, it will be super easy to hide Sengun on defense. However we want to label their positions, it won't matter. I suspect that Jabari might be more of a floating, shooting SF, too.
Actually not year 2 jokic had %20 3pt and %64 ts at the same mins. played before december sengun has %27 3pt and %66 ts Jokic had been given the keys of nuggets last 53 games
Jokic is a career 34.4% 3 pt shooter. This is literally the first season Sengun is shooting 3s as part of his game ever. Last season was the first time he was asked to shoot 3s. Based on his free throw % and his form, I am almost certain he will have comparable 3 pt % with jokic, most likely better. This is no high expectation. And 3 pt is not the only skill in the game. He goes to the free throw line at a rate better than Jokic’s best in his career. His true shooting is nothing shy of Jokic’s. Sengun is behind in assists. He is never put primarily in a position to make assists, no high post plays ever. Still Silas is using him only as a post up player. But the court vision and passing is there waiting to be freed. Believing that he will be jokic territory, which is basically mvp territory, is of course not reasonable. But everything is there to be optimistic about. To think that he has potential to be all star level is not far fetched at all, especially in a forum where people claim kpj has superstar potential.
Jokic still had a like a 33% 3 point percentage to Sengun's 26% , its very in Jokic's case he was regressing to his average, in Sengun's case...he would have to improve his shooting by leap's and bounds. His TS% being 66% is yet to be seen if it is sustainable or not.
He was 26% his first year and 27% this year? His FT% doesnt mean he's gonna be a good three point shooter. Most likely better? Bro, Jokic was already much better than Sengun in his first year at that. That's great man. Its 9 games in, let's see if it's actually sustainable. Jokic will retire likely as a top 30 player ever. You are right, all star I can imagine. But comparing him to Jokic is just gonna make people turn on him when he may just not be as good as people hope(For the record I hope he is but I am just realistic about all of this).
You are taking 3pt percentages too literally. As I said, they are not very meaningful since Sengun just starting taking them. Last season he was even hesitating to take the shot. The first meaningful comparison will come next year, not even this season. And Sengun will just be 21 by then. As I said, I don't imagine him to become Jokic, but the possibility of Sengun becoming a special offensive power is not that remote, all the signs are there. He needs to be developed in certain areas, mainly ball handling and shooting in my opinion. Defense is a separate issue to be addressed.
It is a big move for Sengun, but I am still hoping he makes the climb. If he can get to 35% from three and 80% from the line, there is no telling what his ceiling is. For this year, we need to hope for 30% and 75%, which would keep things moving in the right direction. Crossing my fingers. He just needs to chip away at those percentages year after year.
I am not saying alperen will be 2 time mvp but he is the closest thing to jokic as analitic wise .banchero could be considered as next jokic but i really do not follow him other than some game caps.
Hope is great man, but I'm just saying that expecting him to make a gigantic leap in 3 point percentage is unfair to the guy. I really want him to be as good as you expect him too.
I seriously want to know why there is no off ball movement except a few players like KMJ once Sengun gets the ball in the post. Do some cuts, do something but don’t stand where you are… How does Silas instruct them when the ball in hands of Sengun????
a Humble reminder(helo brain! knock knock!) 1. Just a reminder to the 3 Point Cult Worshippers that Yanis has won it all as a crap 3pt shooter! 2. Also a humble reminder to you that Butler who is a crap 3 pt shooter has beaten SUPERSTARS EMBIIED AND HARDEN WHO ARE GREAT 3 PT SHOOTERS and this happened in the last edition of the playoffs!!! and this guy got one shot near the finals and was in the finals 2 years back as well and lost only due to injuries...its something many of your 3 point snipers can just dream of... and its not like butler is on some superteam do you ever think on your own or just get feed information from the media and then you repeat it/beleive it? 3. Also remember Cp3 HAS BEATEN LEBRON IN PLAYOFFS playing injured on one hand not even trying for 3 pointers lolololololool use your freaking mind sometimes ! and dont just watch games...make some connections in your head...and apply what you learn in your thinking , writing, daily discussion and even your life @J.R. these people man, they are the worst! them and the cult of tanking otherwise known as Thinly Disguised Losers Cult
most of the NBA dont really care... they just going tru motions just like you average joe or whatever is Turkish equivalent perhaps Mustafa or something
is that more unfair or thinking hes gotta be a 3 point shooter to even be amongst the greatest players ? yanis is the best player for years now and hes definitely not a good 3 point shooter and what physical dominance does for yanis, iq and craftiness can do for sengun 3 pt cult is really worse than only-players cults
Indeed, Wemby would be ideal starting next to Sengun. I see Sengun as a ‘Chris Webber’ type 4, but I’m a fan of huge front lines.
It seems that there’s a trend moving back to big front courts too. Cleveland, Minny, Orlando, Utah, Toronto and a couple others are running multiple bigs
Sorry guys but Alpi is right now the best player of the Rockets! Guys who cant see this, they dont know Basketball. Jabari Smith, Jalen Green or Tari Eason are talented but Alpi is some years better. The things, what is doing on the Court is like a big Basketball Player! Do he makes mistakes?? Yes he does! But searching a fly in the soup is not helpful! He knows his weakness and he is working hard on them. So if you want start win games you must build arround Alpi and let the other guys collect experience! Thats what they need! And dont forget they need also a real NBA Coach!
Reminds me of a slower Hakeem, Sabonis, Kukoc that can't shoot consistently. Banchero is likely a mix of Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill and Zion.
