Anything but the 3-10 footers he loves so dearly. I’d even like to see his step back three make a comeback.

That is the biggest questionmark for me. How KPJ made such a cardinal mistake?

Before the season I thought there was no chance for another tanking season due to players mutiny. Tanking and follow-up meant (a wishful scenario) Wemby (Sengun out) or Scoot (KPJ out). In a rational world you would not convince them to tank. The best scenario was : To improve little bit, get 2 picks (between 7 and 17), a new contract for KPJ, JGreen-Sengun-Jabari-Tari collaboration, better defense, 33+ wins.

But just before the start of the season KPJ was given a conditional contract and Alpi was demoted. It meant that the franchise convinced KPJ for Wemby shot and KPJ belived that he could do it singlehandedly.

    Big mistake, vizi capitali.

When I heard the contract news and Sengun demotion, I automatically thought the following and posted here:

    1. Vulnerable Jabari
    2. Tired Jalen Green and lower fg percentage
    3.Low spirits Sengun
4.Better performances from KMJ and Tari.
5.Rage against machine, sorry Rage against KPJ

Tari performs as expected, nothing extra but the other things happened immediately. Sengun is more resillient than I guessed and he performs very good considering last minute disappointment and shortened playing time.

I am sorry for KPJ and Silas&Lucas but they will reap what they sow.

Sengun came to Houston from Istanbul where we Ankara folk call sometimes Bizans (Byzantium). The game of thrones tricks are childplay if you compare to Byzantium tricks. It seems that Sengun learnt one thing or two there.

Moses Brown also put up 13 and 7 in 12 minutes backing Zubac. But just going on the eye test, our paint defense is awful. Sengun can be an offensive power in the league but he needs to be matched with a rim protecting center imo. A 3/D shot blocker would be perfect, with Sengun starting at the 4.

A better defender than we think he is...

His offense dramatically outweights his defensive limitations so Silas needs to cover him with someone defensive like Garuba. 4-Garuba 5- Sengun...

Gonna get benched for sure after Bruno comes back... that's how you reward a player being so efficient at 20 years old.

I consider this highly likely as well. Just what Silas does.

Wemby looks like a center to me. Sengun is solidly a center as well. If things continue as they have so far this year and our perimeter guys continue to struggle. What do you do if your current best player is a center and the "best prospect since Lebron" is a center and you have the 1st pick?

I think both are capable of playing the 4. Sengun actually does well on switches by most metrics and good with chase down blocks. Wemby is very good on the perimeter and down low because of his ridiculous length and fluidity.
They can help each other and I think they pair very well

almost any player could be special if he just did the right things LOL...all of them in nba have physical attributes and skills but decision making is the key
shot selection yes.... accepting the lesser role...seemingly simple things but hardest thing to do...

take a look at harden eg...super high iq player still he ruined his career by refusing to take midrange....something he was great at...

KPJ won't accept a lesser role than now...I'm like 99.9% sure and that means team chemistry will get damaged. Too much drama around him.

    This.

I have posted this before, but there are 144 minutes to distribute at the C, PF, SF positions

    Wemby 30
    Sengun 32
    Jabari 32
    Tari 30
    Garuba 20

All we need is a veteran point guard who gets everyone into a flow and maximizes everyone's strengths.

    Like Chris Paul.

most closer to the truth imho is they just dont care... nobody in nba really cares in fact...its a job to them and the paycheck is the most important thing...ever seen a cashier that doesnt smile? but why?

    1. perhaps they were penny pinching and tried to squeeze an additional picks for every single one of the vets by showcasing them and it so backfired they werent able to get almost anything in return LOL

    2. perhaps they had arrangements with players agencies to give PT to their guys in return for future signings..so they were tanking and basically renting playing time to agencies, other teams eg keeping celtics theis in form and shape, warm for the playoffs

3 so they lost picks they could have got for the vets if they werent losing because losing depreciated their value, they lost playing time for the young basically ruining the picks they got by tanking the previous year or trading for previously...

    4. this is the vicious circle of tanking and penny pinching, now these youngins wont become the players they should if given proper training and playing time so the team will have to tank again, only now they gonna get the proper playing time when its their time to be traded away and perhaps squeeze a second rounder out of them....lolololol

Do you think Moses Brown was a symptom of Sengun playing? I do not dispute that the current defense is absolutely dreadful. However, when we start getting into assessing pick and rolls and rim drives, team defense is a lot more complicated than what is usually proposed here: “We need a tall guy!”

I don’t think playing Sengun as a forward (largely interchangeable position in today’s NBA) is an option. Maybe Wemby is a cheat code here though? I do think Tari and Jabari are going to be defensive stars, and they couldn’t be more perfect for Alperen.

Wemby can play SF on offense and center on defense.
Sengun can play center on offense and PF on defense.
Jabari can play PF on offense and SF on defense.

It's no different to the people claiming Green is going to be a superstar.

Sengun actually has stats backing up why people are making those claims.

Claiming he's on a path to possibly becoming like Jokic isn't insane I don't think. No one knew Jokic was Jokic back when he was playing with Nurkic.
