I'm watching the Sportscenter top 10 and they didn't have Yordans bomb at all. They had Bregman's bare-handed catch at like 4 and that was the only highlight from the game. Someone's a hater at ESPN.
No player in the history of the postseason has had more than 1 go ahead home run in the 6th inning or later with their team trailing. For their entire career. Yordan has now done it 3 times. And it just happened to all come in the same playoffs.
Nope, as long as you're in the box and not leaning over the plate, all you have to do is "make an effort to *not* get hit". Which basically means, "don't stick your s**t out", unlike what Diaz tried to do a couple of games ago.
Yep, replay showed over and over that he pulled his damn elbow in but neither Davis or Smoltz made any mention of it.
They said he had some of the same sticky substance Valdez was rubbing the baseball with on his lead elbow to help subdue the sting from purposely getting hit by the pitch.
False. Smoltz directly stated he pulled his elbow in and that if he had just stayed where we was or worse yet leaned into the pitch that the Phillies would have a case. To all the haters of this very fine broadcasting crew (Smoltz is undeniably the best at what he does), did y'all hear the lead guy describe the Yordan homer? He made a great call ("this game has turned upside down!!!!!!"). I thought he was gonna have a coronary.
I still can't comprehend what Schwarber was thinking with his half-assed bunt attempt with 2 strikes and 2 outs in the top of the 8th with nobody on.
Seriously! I remember every year going up against the Braves and getting **** kicked because of how great their pitching was. We're those ****ing dudes now! NONO!
All the platitudes about “been there before, don’t feel the pressure” … sometimes it does matter. Schwarber just panicked.
This was the most confusing decision of the game. Him bunting at all is crazy let alone with two strikes.
