Uh yeah, it turned when Yordan turned on that pitch. Not debatable.

Wow. What an experience. Half a century old. Take my 8 year old. First few innings were docile since Wheeler was locked in. Then Schwarber hit his home run and the box was quiet. Then something weird and stupid happened. WHEELER WAS PULLED. Then Yordon’s blast absolutely set the place on fire. After that it was electric. Of course Tuckers catch sent the place into orbit. Beer shower and all. Not sure why people think it is cool to throw beer on people below them. It was not a reactionary hoist. Good minute after Tuckers catch. Whatever, we are 2022 champs. Cheap beer shower and all. Very sweet. New York and Los Angeles and all the rest.

stick one of these up your back door:

In the history of MMP, has anyone ever seen the ball end up where Alvarez hit it?

I certainly haven't. Not even close.

Yeah... it's amazing that neither he nor Pressly were under MVP consideration with the work they put in.

She’s not going to be back on the market unless JV pulls a Tom Brady and tries to pitch until he’s in his late 40’s

Flippin Bats Live From Minute Maid Park....had the best coverage. Is that what your link is? I'm watching the YouTube feed. Saw the Dusty speech and start of the champagne celebration. It's still live. I can also rewind it as I missed a lot of this feed.

    https://theathletic.com/3766955/2022/11/06/astros-martin-maldonado-injury-surgery/

Think it was impressive Martín Maldonado showed the baseball aptitude to move closer to the plate and draw the hit-by-pitch that began the Astros’ winning rally in their World Series clincher?

Here’s what makes it more impressive: Maldonado has been playing with a broken bone in his right hand since the Orioles’ Joey Krehbiel hit him with a pitch on Aug. 28. He said after the Astros’ 4-1 elimination of the Phillies that he also will undergo surgery to repair a sports hernia next week.

Maldonado, 36, missed two games after getting hit by Krehbiel, then returned to play in 30 more games during the regular season and postseason. He started 11 of the Astros’ 13 games in the playoffs, going 6-for-29 for a .207 batting average and .544 OPS.

“It bothered me a little bit,” he said of the broken bone in his hand, which is between his pinkie and the wrist. “Not much this series. The series before.”

Maldonado said he experienced the most pain when he was finishing his swing. He did not play in Game 3 of the Astros’ four-game sweep of the Yankees in the American League Championship Series, and also sat out Game 4 of the World Series.

However, he was behind the plate in the final two games against the Phillies, and the game turned after he was hit by Zack Wheeler leading off the sixth inning. The Astros scored all four of their runs that inning, their biggest blow coming on Yordan Alvarez’s three-run homer off reliever Jose Alvarado.

Even with the broken bone in his hand, even with his sports hernia, Maldonado was determined to keep playing.

“That’s what catchers do,” he said. “Grind it out.”

The 3rd best part of being an Astros fan in this forum? Laughing at the dumbasses?

Now I gotta read it tomorrow. After I enjoy the celebrations first, and then again.

I kinda wish I had enough give-a-damn to keep track of the stupid things that the stupids have said.

That's why I pretty much try to post positive stuff, get enough negative stuff from the announcers alone, and if the national media hates/fears us you know we're doing something right as a Houston sports team.

I also really wanted this finished tonight (so I'm happy houston played like it was a game 7) because those game 7s can be peak stress and after game 4 and 5 of this series, I was definitely not wanting to see a game 7, haha.

I mean people can fault me for being positive but I'll stick with houston teams forever through good/bad, so it makes the big wins that much better.

Series changed when Yordan changed it! In the 6th inning! Tonight!

I fail to see how he was wrong.

Machete is such a leader on this team by the way he handles the pitchers and how prepared they are against every team they play.

I only have seen two world series games in person and 2 for 2.
2017 Game #2 - I attend the game (they win) Astros win series
2022 Game #2 - I attend the game (they win) Astros win series

The Astros should pay me to go to all future Game #2s in the World Series... for like forever
