Franz was 6'11 in the last unofficial measurements in 2021. Clutch said Jabari is 6'11 according to the Rox now and if you checked the Orl-Rox matchup this season, there were several moments where both him and Paolo were standing next to each other and looked at least the same height. I don't buy that Paolo is 6'10 for one minute, unless all other measurements are off.
Agreed. Except I haven’t seen anything athletic with Jabari yet but that’s part of another conversation. How about his rim protection? Defensive skills?
Zubac is 7 footer. Do you think Paolo is as tall as Zubac? Last night we saw that Zubac is 2 to 3 cms taller than Sengun. Next time check Zubac vs Paolo. Good luck.
Ok, he isn't Lebronesque athletic, is that what you say? Alperen doesn't jump high at all, he needs fake moves to finish. Well, that is your opinion but remember this is Paolo's first 9 games and those are better than Alperen's beginning of the second season. This is not saying Banchero is a sure superstar, he just has good chances. Also Banchero is going to play with the Italian national team, him learning FIBA ball will help him out a lot more.
According to this logic, Darko Milicic was a better player than Sengun…just got to be selected as a 1st pick.
Easily Banchero tbh. His floor's already higher too. He just has more advanced skills in a wider range of areas than Alpi, who is only really an elite post threat and a good passer. It also requires a lot less effort in the flow of modern NBA basketball to capitalise on Banchero's skillset than it does Sengun's in all honesty. I fully expect us to capitalise on his skillset eventually if he carries on flashing legit brilliance, but Banchero's skillset can be slotted straight into most modern NBA offenses without anywhere near as much adjustment as Sengun's would.
Good post! If Sengun develops a reliable shot, things may look very different. Being 'harder to complement' will always be true though. He needs some luck in that.
"havent seen anything athletic from Jabari yet" I dont think these "rocket" scientists should lump athleticism with ANYTHING Alpy is doing LMAO
I got that you love Alperen but basketball is a team sport. The sport needs both players and more. His outlook doesn't change if Paolo is better. Orlando has developed more stars than Houston's Yao and Harden in the last 25 years.
We've already seen several comparison shots that show Sengun isn't as tall as listed, so I'm not sure what your point is. If you believe Paolo is 6'10 alright, but then the eyetest also shows Jabari and Sengun are 6'10 max (they look even smaller than Paolo) and Sengun likely smaller, making your point about Sengun's height advantage moot.
We will see. Paolo has a chance to be a superstar, but it’s going to be based off of skill development. Same as Alp. Neither of their games is based off of overwhelming athleticism. Both are better leapers off of movement and have good feet. Paolo has a great handle for his size, we will see how his skills develop. As far as physical transformation, I think Paolo is pretty close to a finished product. Not much baby body there, Alp has some more growth from the looks of it.
Really? Jabari has had a couple really nice blocks at the rim, he moves very well. Hes a solid leaper but not overly explosive from a static position. Paolo’s defense was a big talking point coming out of the draft. But he’s had a couple nice block games. I think if he commits to defense he could be a good defender
Paolo is a very good player and get helps from the team and from coaching. Sengun got his numbers not because of coaching but in spite of. Hope Jabari and Tari gets better and we will see what will happen. What Alpi did after demotion is incredible, a great feat. Boy has more mental strength than we can guess.
Of course it’s a team sport. It’s not about if I love Alperen or not. Have I ever said Sengun is a perfect player? And It’s a valid comparison between two, statistically there is no day and night difference between them. I expect quality answers from this forum but always a failure.
