KPJ: Can someone explain to me why he has become Clutchfans favorite whipping boy?

the KPJ thread seemed like just heated back and forth…1 side was being called KPJ stans, the other KPJ haters, SOF, etc…I myself was getting into it with the pro-KPJ faction as we definitely do not agree about him

however, I did not see VC resort to calling people who don’t like KPJ racists who are only criticizing him because of his skin color…some of y’all decided to take it there

 

For the sake of this board, I hope the Rockets win soon. It’s getting weird in here.

As has been the history of this place right? We've all had our "pet projects" over the years with players - try to offer logical debate on both sides of the fence while not needing to get personal and completely break down a contrary opinion. This place is used to the passive aggressive back and forth and the petty jabs - thats normal. Guys just avoid quoting everything someone says because we all know each others history. Thats the brotherhood - we dont always agree and can get a little fiesty, but its always been with a shared love for the team. Any kind of race baiting that goes on here should be met with backlash and not excused away because it lines up with our subjective evals of any certain player. I've cut for Sengun like a MFer too thats the funny thing!

The only issue is that my "bully friends" aren't on CF.

The real question is, why not just post on your main? Why the sock puppet account?

 

I find both stan groups to be terrible personally, bordering on delusional. What I think is hilarious however is that neither players of either group is good enough to be the focal point for offense on a team that is actually good.

Sengun has looked good in 1v1 matchups in the paint, but that is literally the only place where he is effective and this is without teams scheming their defense against him. Beyond that, he is completely ineffectual anywhere outside of 3ft from the rim and his decision making is often inexcusably reckless. Physically, he completely lacks any sort of standout attributes and can be best summed up as “meh” which puts a severe dampener on his overall ceiling on an actual good team. I said it before and I will say it again, the only way he can even sniff the lofty expectations his fans have is if he develops reliable range of some sort or becomes absolutely elite in the paint.

KPJ on the other hand is almost the polar opposite in most ways to Sengun in that he is very mediocre in ISO matchups but has a lot of range when playing off ball. He has some pretty impressive physical attributes that can really help him as a defender as well. All this however is extremely hampered by the fact that he is as dumb as a door knob when playing basketball. Like seriously, guy makes some of the most questionable, head scratching decisions when he has the ball in his hands. The fact that he is a complete knucklehead doesn’t help matters either.

At the end of the day, neither players are good enough to have the type of rabid fandom that they do… IMO.

 

Let's just say both of them have potential, it is destined that one becomes better than the other.

The back and forth of fans here, true, it would have happened with any 2 players that could score 20.

 

Imagine how bad it would be if either Sengun or KPJ were playing as poorly as Jalen or Jabari thus far this season...

 

Yep, they both lack in some areas that their positions demand.

The fandom is different though, for sengun it is either fellow countrymen or people who like the finesse, effort and iq in his play despite physical limitedness(I fall into both categories), for KPJ the fans are are in awe his physical gifts.

 

I think some time separate, always have one on the floor as primary initiator, but I really want to see them get better together, saw some of it last night, so progress.

Rocket fans need to be patient across the board.

With KPJ, Jabari, AlP, Green, so on and so forth. The players that should be open to criticism more are Tate and Gordon - guys who have already developed most of their games.

Everything is a work in progress.

 

And people are going to be critical of everyone on the team.
