This dude was the Astros messiah. I feel as if Javier slowed the Phillies bats down to such an extent that the Astros hitters stopped feeling as if they needed to be in a hurry. Javier eased all frustration and sent a message to the team “let’s trust ourselves, we’re going to win.” I haven’t seen a pitcher shift energy this much in a series since ALCS game 6 when JV saved us after losing 3 straight in the bronx. Thank you Javier
After we lost game 3 and didn’t score early today, there was so much pressure on Javier to not let us fall behind. He carried the load until our hitters seized the moment.
When they kept showing him in deep thought and praying in the dugout between innings, that **** game me chillssssss!
As a secular humanist I’m going to call him a “Batman like figure”. He’s the hero we need at our greatest time of darkness…
I'm not bashing the guy that got us to the 2017 WS and started game 7 of the only WS we ever won. I wouldn't mind them starting Javier for game 7 and saying give us 3 innings and then let it be LMJ for 3.
Hopefully a rabid pack of rabbis don’t hunt him down and get him executed, might complicate him relieving a potential game 7.
He did not play well in that game 7 from what I recall though. Hinch went to Morton early and that was all she wrote.
Baseball is a hard game every baseball player who has ever lived has had bad games ( maybe not John Paciorek). Unfortunately sometimes they are at the worst times with the most scrutiny and importance. What do you think if Jeff Bagwell? Lance was VERY instrumental in beating the Yankees in the 2017 ALCS
