Fascism, as defined by Mussolini, is everything within the state, nothing outside of the state. There is state control of industry, a radical increase in militarism, hyper-nationalism, subordination of the individual to the welfare of the state, and forcible suppression of opposition (typically including but not limited to state control of the press, some sort of powerful domestic national police/spy agency, etc.)

Authoritarianism simply means a strong state. An authoritarian state could have no interest in militarism or hyper-nationalism, could allow a free market, could demand a return to agrarianism like Cambodia. Obviously, there is going to be a lot of overlap with Fascism.

Fascism is essentially the opposite of libertarianism (where the focus is on the individual, the local trumps the state, there is a free and unregulated market, and opposition is freely allowed).

Unemployment doesn't count the chronically unemployed, it only counts those seeking work. The labor force participation rate is way down from 2000, and much, much lower than is typical in other countries. Labor force participation among young adults (typical source of unskilled labor) is very low. A tight job market makes it harder to increase labor force participation, where a sudden drop in the supply of workers would require drawing current non-participants into the labor market.

What are you talking about? You can criticize the government or its actors as much as you like for whatever reason you like. I do it all the time. When you compare something to fascism that has nothing to do with fascism (or that is common among many forms of government, including those far removed from fascism), you will probably be criticized for doing so.

The backlog is due to taking years to adjudicate a simple case that should take less than an hour. The government presents evidence of illegal immigration (either unlawful entry or visa overstay), the immigrant has the opportunity to present evidence they are not an illegal immigrant (currently valid visa, proof of US citizenship). The judge determines if they are in the country legally. I have been to immigration court and it is a total shitshow.

The parent created the situation for the kid. They knew that the kid was being brought into the country illegally and that the consequences of being caught were deportation for the kid.
