Remember how everyone said "Man, if we had Verlander and McCullers last year against the Braves we would have won." Lol. Baseball is a cruel sport.
This is where I'm at. It just feels like we are doomed (choking??). Please for the love of God, let me be wrong.
I gave up after the top of the 7th last night. Looking at the box score Dusty let Mancini PH for Hensley who went 1 for 3. Of course Mancini made an out. Why would Dusty make that move? Not sure about you Dusty. Get thrown out early tonight and let someone else try it. Couldn’t be any worse.
We scored 5 in game 1 and when the Phillies responded we did not. We got punchedin the mouth early in game 3 and again we never responded. We never responded when the Nats overtook our 3 games to 2 lead in Houston. We did not respond in game 6 at home against the Braves. Since 2017, the trend in the WS is that we just don’t respond when the chips are down. The team goes into a mental funk and blows everything. If the team does respond and win this series, it would be against the odds. Im not sure we can. However, if we somehow win tonight it does put pressure back on Philly. The Astros then must keep it up for the rest of the series. I have a sliver of hope left.
Verlander, sure. McCullers though? Last night was only his second time pitching in all of the 4 World Series combined. He's now 1-1.
Eh his first start in 2017 was only 3 runs. You'd take that any day. This second start was rough that makes the numbers look worse.
Just like game 2, stros will leave game 4 with the series tied and guarantee they're coming back home to the H for the rest of the series. Philly fcked up by going after MM
