Justin Verlander hasn't recovered from World Series Winless Underperformance

It’s been going on for some time now with Stanek and Dusty.

Dusty is very much a players manager. Him keeping Verlander in to get a win fits with that. He knows Verlander is not just a legend but is a leader of the teams he wants to give him every chance to win and feels that is then best course to keep the team happy.

That's not what wins games and it cost us game 1. Baker is a very good person but he's a terrible manager

Wouldn’t say that. The stros are in the World Series again with him. He’s won a ton of games to get to those points. You’re not a terrible manager doing that. Can you question some of his decisions sure. But that goes for every single other manager/coach or whoever in professional sports. It comes with the territory because everyone wants to have an opinion. Who is right and who is wrong depends on who is being asked

The have the best roster in baseball. He's consistantly had talent and when it gets time to win a WS he always has fallen short. Terrible might be harsh bit he is bad.

He gets glossed over way too much around here and lack of credit for decisions that have got them to this point. He can go undefeated in 2 rounds which is unprecedented to get to the WS. All that gets washed away the first game the stros lose. It’s actually gotten to the point where I would say folks are just spoiled. It is what it is. Folks will stick with that they think about Baker no matter what happens

anyways on to game 3. Houston’s got 3 more to go to get it. Go Stros

I've always said we win despite him. I have given him credit when he actually does something positive.

We agree there. Let's get a W. Go Stros

The Dodgers probably have the best roster in baseball. And at the beginning of the season, no one thought the Astros had the best roster in baseball, so maybe his management of it is part of the reason they are doing so well?

If fans had their way, Gurriel and Maldanado would have been benched mid-season. Pressly would not be the closer after blowing a random game in NY. Sitting Yordan for a random game in NY was criminal. Verlander should have been taken out after 2 innings in the ALCS.

It's weird that people think he's good enough to win ALDS's and ALCS's but magically not good enough to win a WS.

Top to bottom Houston was better. Our pitching staff is insane. I don't pay too much attention to media but from what I have seen it seems Houston was considered better. His management is bad. He just smiles and pretends he isn't asleep in the dugout.

I think Vasquez is superior to Maldo even though he's hit. It's cool that he's Verlander's personal catcher and he's delivered Verlander never does in prime time. On Yuli (who I love to death) he was awful. Thankfully he's put it together. Pressly is still shaky. I'm guessing you just don't watch games if somehow you're inferring some of this.

It's OK you like the guy (understand he's a good person) and admit he's a bad manager

I'll wait for his WS wins

The Astros have the best roster in baseball?

The Dodgers and the Padres say hello.

So I guess you have no problem with Gurriel at 1st and whoever we send out to CF?

Thankfully I can take a break from the idiots in the D&D. Hopefully we can have a positive conversation here (not an insult towards you)

I personally think they do top to bottom. Padres don't have anywhere near our depth. Dodgers continue to fail in the postseason. Our pitching in unmatched and we keep winning despite losing key pieces.

I want Chas obviously but who do want out of curiosity? On Yuli, he's started hitting and I am for letting him go as long as it is. We can't change it and we have Dusty favorites like Mancini and Dubon who are worse.

Losing Brantley hurt. We need upgrades at 1B and manager next season

    Padres don't have are depth?

It seems you want to ignore the lineup and hitting and only want to focus on the pitching.

The fact that Chas is even really in the discussion makes my point and even you don't like Mancini and Dubon but we have the roster in baseball.

Like everywhere else you don't make any sense so like everywhere I am not going to engage.

“He was just what we needed,’’ Astros third baseman Alex Bregman says. “He calmed everything down. He’s as good a manager as there is in this game.’’

Completely inexcusable what Dusty did tonight. Probably does long term damage to McCullers' confidence as well. Just stupid management.

I don't know about Dusty coming back (I can't stand him, even before he got to Houston), but there is noway I bring back Alex Cintron.
