Guys I thought we were cheering for THE HOUSTON ROCKETS! Not Sengun and the Pips. The SOFs (Sengun Only Fans) are killing me. I'll be the first to admit, he does have skills and he is improving his outside shot but he's still limited. Especially on the defensive end. This is why I don't think he will ever be above more than an avg to above average player at best. From what I saw last night was Sengun having a few highlight plays but once again losing the war. Zubac had 16 and 12 and Sengun 14 and 9 but if you listen to J. Gatlin who I admit, I listen to all the time and I love, love his Podcast but I was a somewhat turned off by this segment. When you listen with an OPEN MIND, starting at the 20 minute mark, you will swear that Sengun had the game of a Lifetime, you would swear that he dominated his opponent and that his opponent had the worse game ever. Jackson was beside himself; Sengun was spinning, he was like Hakeem, he was giving up fakes, he got his man in foul trouble, he was TERRIFIC. Once again, I don't want SOF NATION getting their panties in a wad but COME ON MAN, he's just an avg player

Stop. You actually do have your biases. Alp has the highest offensive rating on the team and the same defensive ratings as KPJ and Green. This team is woefully bad on defense, with no direction. Pinning it on one individual, who actually puts in effort on that side is wrong. You need to stop

I think Green and kpj also tries on defense it just sengun gets all the blame for being the poor defender.
Also true. I’m not hating on any of them, but it’s weird how one gets singled out. I even like KPJ, I just think he’s not put in best position to succeed.
Let me say this. I am bias to GREATNESS. If a player is great, I call it like I see it, if he's not then I will say that, as well. I always rooted for the Rockets, Astros and Texans, so I don't understand the Player only Praise. I want my TEAMS to win. But some how I knew you would be a detractor, it's just who you are.
If you read the original post, I didn't single him out, saying he's the only one playing bad defense. I was just alluding to the fact that there are people who cheer for Sengun only and what his deficiencies were and how I thought at the moment that he was just an avg player. If you notice, rarely do you see or hear of Green only fans or KPJ only fans, same for Jabari, they are in the category of Rocket fans. Why are there Sengun only fans? Why is it whenever he does something great its highlighted to the fullest? He had 14 and 9! 14 and 9! I could see if he had 20 and 20, I would be rooting for him in the same fashion as Jackson Gatlin but 14 and 9 and they lost....Come on!
Too many extremes goin around from both sides. Sengun is not basketball Jesus like his most “devoted” fans convey him to be. But.. he could easily be a 20 and 10 player this season with higher usage. Calling him “average” is also too extreme. If Sabonis and Vucevic can be 2 time all stars.. I see no reason to believe Sengun can’t reach that level at some point. An improved 3pt shot and better positional defense will determine his ceiling.
I think he's better than Freedom. Sengun is good around the basket, he has a developing jumper, great passing skills and he's only 20yrs old. Now the big question is how much more can he develop? Is he close to being maxed out? Outside of his jumper, where else can he improve?
This is a myth. Sengun is good at basketball and some of yall can't stand it. The man's IQ is elite. Sengun so smart, he makes up for his slow twitch muscles. Sengun's defense was good in winning time. You guys are defaulting to Sengun being bad at defense. he isn't Sengun and Jalen are good together. Pretty much lol. Enes was dominant in the paint and the boards, just awful on defense. Sengun defense is ahead of his though
To me and this is just my opinion but I think Sabonis and Vucevic are just slightly above avg. players, which is where I said Sengun's ceiling is. If he were a 7 ft or taller, I think Sengun would be AWESOME but he's not!
Y’all gotta stop taking what these guys say seriously. They’re still making excuses for Jalen playing like trash. They even said on a pod once he’s possibly the next Kobe
