I don't disagree with you, logically. But socially and PR-wise, it's tone-deaf to recast T'Challa BP at this point. It's possible that they bring in MJJ as BP from some alternate reality in the future, but not now...too soon. As @jiggyfly said, BP is the hero. BP is a mantle that gets passed down. He's (or she) has been around for hundreds or thousands of years.
im for recasting tchalla beyond chadwick. breh was in good movies but it’s not like breh was malcolm he/him/x. but marvel already chose their path and went with cute lil sis, no turning back now. if someone else like tom holland dies, i hope marvel has the sense to recast the character. maybe tom cruise.
Thats like saying Bruce Wayne is not the central character in a Batman movie, Peter Parker is not the central character in a Spiderman movie, Clark Kent is not a central character in a Superman Movie. You guys bending over backwards to discount T'challa as a hero and his mantle to bandied around like it's not important to T'Challa's character and character growth. Black Panther is not the important thing here. T'Challa is the important character, guys. what the hell? Black Panther ALWAYS comes back to T'Challa. Next time try and make a batman movie without Bruce Wayne and star Jim Gordan as Batman like they did in the comics. Lets see how fun that is. What the hell are you saying?
LOL no. T'Challa has none of the personal story that Bruce Wayne has. T'Challa also has none of the personal story of Clark Kent. The Mantle of Batman nor Superman is passed down the mantle of BP is passed down through many generations it was a main plot point of the original movie and why Killmonger fought him. I see you are not even trying to be reasonable anymore, continue on.
If you think PR wise its tone deaf dont make the movie. Push the movie back. T'challa is Black Panther. Bruce Wayne is Batman. Clark Kent is Superman. Peter Parker is Spiderman. Thats the way this stuff goes. In the comics There has never been a Black Panther that isnt T'challa for more than couple books. In the comics People have played Superman, Batman and Spiderman and those "mantles" have always come back to Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent and Peter Parker. If an actor playing Bruce Wayne died you think they would pass Batman to someone else and kill off Bruce Wayne forever? of course not..
What? what are you even talking about? T'challa ABSOLUTLY has the personal story just like all those characters! We just saw it for the first time ever. The black panther comics are just as prolific in scope as any Batman, Spiderman or superman comic book. T'challa as black panther is one of the smartest people in Marvel, was supposed to be in the illuminati, was married to storm, wielded the infinity gauntlet and used the phoenix force, has a huge rivalry with the fantastic four, Dr Doom, and namor. T'challa has been a central character in Marvel for awhile if T'challa was able to tell his story THE SAME STORY and origin over and over again for 30, 40, 50 years on screen like Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent, you wouldn't be saying this man has no personal story. You thinking T'Challa is just a guy is the problem here.
This is the first time you have nothing to say, jiggy. I know you love to argue. You love to be the last one to speak. oh yeah did I mention T'Challa is the King of Wakanda? What a personal story that would be.
I love to have elevated discussions once they become heated no so much I realize you are passionate about his and that's your right so it would be pointless to go back and forth with you. There have been many Kings of Wakanda, that's my entire point.
You couldn't name another king of Wakanda if your life depended on it. And that is a FACT. You barely knew who T'Challa's dad was before he died. The King of Wakanda and Black Panther is synonymous with T'Challa just like Bruce Wayne and Batman. Just like Clark Kent and Superman. Just like Peter Parker and Spiderman. Some of yall are being intentionally obtuse.
It does not matter if I can name another BP that's not the point. You just named another BP his dad was his name T'Challa? which makes my entire point. Let it go, my guy.
I can name another Spiderman - Doc Oc was Spiderman and pretty successfully. I can name another Batman - Jim Gordan, Dick Grayson, Damn near everybody in the Bat Family has been Batman I can name another Superman - Bruce Wayne was Superman, Steel, Superboy, etc What's your point again? The point is T'Challa is the King of Wakanda and Black Panther no matter what has happened. That is the character. You just dont have the same energy for T'Challa you have for Bruce, Clark and Peter and it's weird. you dont even know T'Challa's dad's name without google, lol
Are you just bored today? WTF does me knowing T'Challa's dad have to do with anything. I don't have any particularly energy for any of the guys you named I have energy for the actual characters they play I don't know why you don't understand that.
There's movies with a different Spiderman. Nolan setup Detective Blake as the new Batman and there are plenty of Batman runs where Bruce Wayne isn't Batman. About to be a Captain America without Steve Rogers. I don't really care either way just saying.
