Look at the attackers content in regards to his obsession with "wokeism". It sounds exactly like the obsession fro a couple of posters here.

Normal and not unexpected for the media to get it wrong early on. Reputable media, sources, and individuals correct their mistakes. Unreputable ones (Musk included in this case) remove the mistake without issuing a statement. Worse, some don't delete it and some double down.

And it also appears that's unacceptable, thus the continuation of politically motivated conspiracy theories or distractions.

Political violence is NOTHING new. But the reactions to it are new this time. Those include jumping right into conspiracy theories, continuing down those tiny deep rabbit holes, and the celebration of this incident.

Why? It's been obvious for more than 10 years that he is either profoundly disingenuous or has significant cognitive issues.

We picked up some weird habits where attacks on polarizing figures are minimized or diminished. Then you have the aggrieved side literally crying foul at the others "indifference."

Similar vibes with scrotus members getting harassed where they live or eat, which also devolved into finger pointing.

Weird quasi-sportsfan gamesmanship purely fueled by rage and emotionally rather than alcohol and fanaticism...

Ofc, the misinformation as a result of us needing instant gratification from our connected devices totally makes "the game" different for every participant.

I often go back to the reporting on 911. There were reports that there were more planes targetting LA, Chicago and other cities. There was a report that a truck bomb had exploded outside the State Dept. There were even reporters claiming that a plane was targeting the Mall of America leading to an evacuation of the Mall. There is often confusion and with the pressure to break news media often reports unsubstantiated things. As noted reputable media does correct itself and will issue a retraction. What happens though is that many of those who push conspiracy or other alternate views sieze upon initial media reports to say that that is evidence and that the retraction is the coverup.

This goes to a problem that is plaguing our culture. That I would call negative critical thinking. It's the idea that the most far fetched scenario is actually likely and factual arguments to counter it are proof of the coverup making it more likely. For example with 911 again. It is very unlikely that thermite could've been planted ahead of time in the Twin Towers and detonated in away to make them collapse as was seen on that day. Yet many will claim that is more evidence that it was done since it was so implausible to begin with, "that's what THEY want you to believe."

In most cases Occam's Razor applies. The most direct explanation of an event is the most likely explanation. That doesn't mean things shouldn't be investigated or alternate theories considered but critical thinking shouldn't be abandoned to push an outlandish theory for partisan or other reasons.

I think my highest weight ever was 106 or 107 kg during the lockdown (about 235 lbs). Since I am in the healthcare industry, I was testing some things including glucose monitors. Went low carb (almost no carb) for 6 weeks and was down to about 200 lbs. Traditionally, I am almost a "carb only" guy, so that was not so easy for me. Haven't been as active recently as I would like to and moving to the US has made me gain some weight again, it fluctuates a bit, somewhere between 205 and 210 lbs. I'm naturally not overweight, but at 235 lbs and not really doing any sports, I not only felt somewhat unhealthy, my blood pressure and glucose levels reflected it. I'd like to get back to a healthier lifestyle, right now it's a lot of stress, not much sleep, lots of travel. I have access to gyms, tennis, etc. and have everything at home, too (Peloton, Fightcamp, a mirror like Tonal, a pool, weights, etc.). Just no time.

Also, I can recommend following glucose goddess on Insta, she also wrote a book. Before she became famous, I interviewed her and tried to hire her, but she wanted prohibitively high rates.

I gave you links but you don't understand what they mean. The "random people on Twitter" are just using publicly available tools to show that the guy's blog was only uploaded on Oct. 28th and taken down again on Oct. 29th.

Yeah I hear you. I have been about 240 for a long time then had spiked up to about 280 but got back down to 240 after a lot of diet and working out. But I can't go lower. Low carb, no carb, intermittent fasting - really hard to get lower while keeping muscle mass. I have a concept2 and yeah hard to find time as well.

    Damn

This very well might be a false flag to make society turn on the anti-wokeists and make them look like lunatics.

But it doesn't make sense because you don't need that drastic of a measure to show that.

To be clear, I never said I know that this guy is not influenced by right-wing or other conspiracy crap.

And I don't know if he made posts in that direction on his personal Facebook page.

What I do know is that these two blogs seem very strange.

This is not about whoever the tweeter is. He merely uses publicly available tools which appear to indicate that the blog was not accessible before Oct. 28th, and was taken down again on Oct. 29th (even though posts on it were backdated, which is easily possible).

Other than Google never having cached the guy's blog, the aforementioned archive.org (Internet Wayback Machine) which automatically crawls the internet, doesn't have any content on that blog before Oct. 28:

    https://web.archive.org/web/20220000000000*/godisloving.wordpress.com
    https://web.archive.org/web/20220000000000*/frenlyfrens.com

Note this doesn't mean the guy cannot still be influenced by right-wing or left-wing or other conspiracy propaganda. But the information about this blog simply doesn't add up.

P.S.: And I know that more internet-savvy people than you, @jomama, are reading this and know it doesn't add up. There are many software engineers etc. here on this site. But they are staying silent because it's not convenient to what they want the message to be.

I get entertaining farfetched scenarios from time to time. But the factual argument that counters those is seen as coverup - that's what we call going into lala land and there is nothing anyone can do to counter that. In this incident, the facts of the case are evidence of the coverup.

The first comment points out the very reason. The guy had multiple blogs and the two he used aren't the same blog.

There is no inconsistency. Just another in a long line of misleading tweets.

When will folks learn not to get their news from random untrustworthy tweets?

I hope it's soon because they are cluttering up this bbs.

The tweeter was wrong and misleading. It was two separate blogs. The tweeter used available tools to mislead.

The frenlyfrens one is the one that is quoted as the one having the "right-wing" and conspiracy views. She did not know about it. She expressly says it. That one, and the godisloving.wordpress one. Both seem to only have been uploaded on Oct. 28th and taken down again on Oct. 29th.

Which "other blog" can you point us all to where he espoused "right wing" views?

The only thing I read about were his Facebook posts. These are down as well, so I cannot find anything.

So how can you be sure that "the tweeter was wrong and misleading"? Do you have access to something everyone else does not have access to?

The guy had multiple blogs containing right wing stuff.

If the LA Times got it wrong, it doesn't change a thing about his motivation or political leanings.

"hard to believe the republican party is so trashy" but then again we are talking the same party that tried to lynch their own vice president
