I find it horribly interesting that both Jabari and Green have been struggling with their shot after posting a great game against Utah.
It's less the stats and more the overall look of his game. I agree it's early. His shooting will improve. Hopefully his defense improves. But his physical limitations, to me, are a little shocking.
I feel like it hard to gauge how good our players really are when our coach ain't really a coach but more of a cheerleader more than anything. Hopefully Smith is able to improve regardless of incompetent coaching
I know he's struggling, but I really would like him to be more involved in the offense. Seems like we never run any plays for him, he was a complete ghost out there tonight.
it's hard to run plays for him. The opponents stick to him like glue because they know he can't drive or even post up. They just take away the 3.
He should be able to shoot over them with his height/length. Also, a good play will result in an open look for him. I just want like 15 shots per game instead of 8.
It is clear to see, ever since the Blow up on the bench - Jalen Green and KPJ are freezing this dude out!
This is not clear to see at all; I know this from having watched every dreary second of the Rockets season.
No one is freezing smith out, it's more like KPJ can't see an open Smith due to his lack of court vision. The coach isn't doing Smith any favors by setting up plays to give the rookie ez shots
Y’all always gotta blame others when it comes to Jabari or Jalen playing like trash. It’s on Jabari!! He’s not playing well, period
Again, I agree with this. But it's not only coaching. You can just watch Jabari play and know that he has no explosiveness, fluidity, or advanced skill (outside of jump shots). And that's why he didn't go #1, so I get it, but he's further away than I originally expected based on his pre-draft analysis.

Way too many stars have flunked their rookie season to even worry about their talent right now. What I do worry about is not getting these guys any form of structure. That will hinder development.
