Granted this board’s stock in Verlander is probably at an all time low, thoughts on a possible strategy of pitching JV game 4 so that he’d be available for use in a possible game 7 on 3 days rest?
more days for Philly players to get rest in their own beds and Astros players to be away longer on the road. I've got nothing to watch now. Rockets game starts late as hell. this sucks.
Verlander in a possible game 7 sounds like a disaster with the pressure/stakes at the highest. The problem is obviously mental.

With the pitching staff the Astros have, no point in throwing anyone on short rest. I think Verlander is going to pitch a strong game 5. He was cruising until that dropped liner and if Dusty pulled him after the fourth we'd be talking about game 1 much differently.
Astros are the superior team. Playing in rainy conditions could give rise to anomalous events (slips in the field, poor grips, wet bats) that neutralize the Astros' advantages. Delay helps Houston too.
