The weather is what it is, so no real point in complaining. You don't want to start sounding like Yankee's fans complaining about Judge's pop out.
I had a feeling if Philadelphia made the WS that there may be a postponement with the rain up in the northeast. Sucks. Sorry open air stadiums without roofs. Also, if Dusty opts to go with Verlander and not Javier for game 4, there will be a total uproar and I would understand the uproar.
I'm pretty sure Phillies and Padres played in a decent rain about a week ago. But game gets postponed in New York and now in Philadelphia. Not that I want players playing in the rain (which could lead to an injury on the wet surfaces or pitchers losing control), but why postpone sometimes and not others?
Well he did say if it's rained out(which it is now) Javier would be a maybe for game 4. If it wasn't Javier would get game 4. The maybe sure seems like Verlander could get the start. I wonder if it depends on the outcome of game 3. Go up 2-1, go with Verlander. Down 2-1, go with Javier? Or vice versa?
It's NOT really rain. It's DRIZZLE. They play through drizzle ALL THE TIME. Unless it benefits the Astros Opponent to cancel the game.
The storm passed over where I am and it's been more than just a drizzle for stretches. It's not going to stop until 2am, so if it does get worse or the field conditions get bad they can't delay the game until 3 in the morning. It's not a conspiracy to help the Phillies.
Wrong Syndergaard/Suarez/Nola was originally planned Now Syndergaard just gets pushed down to the 5th game. I think it's a huge mistake not letting Wheeler try to beat a very vulnerable JV in game 5. I could see us winning 8-6 in a game JV implodes again but Syndergaard is just as bad and their bullpen doesn't hold up. This change doesn't help Philly except for Nola being available on 3 days rest in game 7, which I wouldn't say is a benefit at all, that could backfire.
Yeah Dusty may be waiting for the results of game 3. Javier imo needs to go game 4 regardless but we'll see what happens.
I used to think those that felt that every stadium should have a retractable roof were being ridiculous, but I now get it. Any stadium going forward should be required to have a retractable roof, especially if they are going to force teams with a roof to open it when it's convenient.
Would've rather just played because Altuve seems to have found his rhythm. Off days seem to throw him off.
The biggest difference is it makes Thomson's decision to pitch Suarez in relief in game 1 even better in hindsight. Nola / Wheeler are still only pitching twice each and I expect Suarez was starting a game 7 either way if it gets there.
Astros the only winning in Houston right now, lol we needed to be reminded what it looks like now its postponed!
Imo, tomorrow is a big game. Astros better win tomorrow. I don't think Nola will have another stinker. Javier might pitch well but could be a low scoring game. If Astros lose tomorrow and game 4, down 3-1 and you have Verlander trying to save the season with game 5 and his numbers in the World Series is awful. Hopefully he surprises and comes up big.
At 9:30.. 2-1/2 hours after the WS should have started. Nobody got time for that! Plus they’ll just hang around 2 to 3 quarters to suck in the end. Kinda like the Texans so far this year. Pretty wild. I thought it was cool that we would get to watch the Texans get a beat down on Thursday waiting on game 6 if it got there. Now nobody will be watching the Texans... yeah right, reliant will still be packed with the delirious fans.
