I have been in favor of Javier being the #3 for the last month. He has found this groove. Now that JV crapped the bed no way I don't want Javier in the mound in this series.
It's funny seeing some people say "huge advantage astros" and other people say, "huge advantage phillies."
That's because it started later, that's not because of weather. Some of your takes man... Weather has been annoying for sure this postseason, but it hasn't delayed any series from starting on time. If we get a delay tonight it would push everything back 1 day.
It would actually benefit MLB for the Astros to win. The best way to get past all the talk of cheating is to win another one without the suspicion of it going on. More talk of cheating doesn't benefit MLB
The difference is if they retain the travel day and give their top two pitchers extra rest and their shorthanded bull pen extra rest. Basically, they are taking away our biggest advantage, PITCHING DEPTH. If they play five straight, the reverse is true.
If you really look at the radar for tonight, the stadium is right on the edge of where the predicted rain is going to be. If it moves a hair more east than the predictive radar then the game won't play. If it moves a hair more west, the game plays without delay. If it stays exactly where it shows (which rarely ever happens) then it will be iffy all night MLB has to gauge how possible delays and the game going late affects ratings tonight vs how a potential game 7 on Sunday night, up against SNF, would do ratings wise. Even a game 7 would get crushed by SNF. I think they will play if at all possible tonight
For starters, last year's WS ended in November. Not sure how you are forgetting that, but it's also happened 5 other times. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/...-as-2021-fall-classic-stretches-past-october/
Phillies rotation change G3 Suarez G4 Nola G5 Wheeler G6 Syndergaaard G7 Suarez Don't let ANYONE convince you this is a good thing for the Phillies. The Astros destroyed Suarez at the end of the year and the Astros have had the most success of anyone in the majors against lefty starters. Nola could give them an inning at best in game 7. He will not start game 7. That's not a thing. Just get the series back to Houston and we are world series champions.
They are related. There are more weather problems from late October through the winter. So the calendar delay pushes the series into historically worse weather. There has never been a series scheduled to end in November before this year. There are two events which might have ALTERED the series. The Quake Series and 9/11/2001.
LITERALLY LAST YEAR'S WORLD SERIES WAS SCHEDULED TO END IN NOVEMBER IF IT WENT 6/7. ARE YOU NEW TO THIS TEAM???
