Nix might just be the worst player in the entire professional circuit in America. NBA. G League. Will include College too. Each day that passes proves more and more just how little DD understands the game of basketball. Which is kind of worrisome considering the amount of time he puts into talking on a basketball forum.
Suns' first half and Rockets' whole game assist numbers were equal. How you beat teams without assisting? Coaching number 1,assisting number 2 problems in this team.
He will if he can; it's two easy points and any team'll take it. Last year this bully ball worked great because he was unknown and teammates were more active. He could always make a pass that the opponents didn't expect. This year all his teammates are playing the scarecrow; there are not cutters, and whenever he passes the ball outside, it's a brick anyway. Let's face it: the boy's gotta eat.
Nix is slow. Nix has bad handles. Nix makes bad, inaccurate passes. Nix is bad at defense. Nix is lazy. Nix can't make FTs. Nix can't shoot. But he does an excellent job as a Junior Tank Commander.
Players need to finish assists. This team is creating scoring opportunities plenty of times at point blank range and everyone just keeps missing those shots. If you look up the potential assists from the guys who clock 4 or more per game and then compare to the actual assists for those 7 guys you find that the team MISSES about 19 potential assists among them not even counting the marginal numbers from the others. Not all of those are at the rim, but plenty also come from missing wide open shots obviously the expectation is not perfection. If they could convert even 5 of those potential assists that would be at least a 10 point swing. This is an immature team that is still learning how to play cohesive basketball with one another. Silas doesnt help, but I believe that Stone and Silas arent losing sleep over losing games and the plan all along may be to try and get another high draft pick before conveying to OKC next year.
Na, plenty of people (me included) were saying this before the season started. Preseason is completely irrelevant and means absolutely nothing. The team is basically where it should be given the youth, not overachieving not underachieving
Jalen Green added no additional skills in the offseason outside of scoring, and his scoring has regressed from the end of last season.
Its again the same Problem: JG and JS hit togther only 7 of his 26 shoots! Overall Houston took 87 Shoots. If this 2 guys hit like a normal NBA Player, Houston won this game. So dont talk about Defense or something else...
You could be playing good looking basketball and still be down 1-6. It's the way the team has been set up by Silas and their individual failures that have been disappointing. It looks like a big mess and Silas is all smiling.
so jabari is not the shinny new toy anymore? not a single jabari thread in the GARM in sight?! man the hype was sooooo huge for the entire last year.... a defensive stopper! , 7 footer! and rim protector! plus 3 pt snipper! he can do this and that and hes projected to be this and that yada yada yada i thought we are getting a new michaele jordan or at least hakeem olajuwan lolololooll TAKE THAT FOR DATA the Houston Tanks fans lololololol
To me jalen is the one big disappointment so far. Jabari I expected to really struggle early which he has
yep, and also this is what you get in silas and stone school of basketball supported by wood, KPJ, danuel house, eric gordon.... every man outthere looking for his.... this is the school that encourages ballhogging and punishes playing defense, being a great teammate and passing the ball quickly... TAKE THAT FOR DATA DUMBALYTICS DEPARTMENT of the Houston Tanking School of Clowns Basketball
jalen had a big turnaround last year and i expect him to do the same this year its just that silas genius blueprint coaching hasnt sinked in yet... its bit of a r****ded process it seems...but its ok cause silas never fails in producing lebrons and currys of the world
A lot of Green's shots are extremely difficult and that's on both Jalen and Coach Silas. Coach forces dribble hand offs like they are about to be banned and we are terrible at them. Coach wants read and react but we have young players reading and reacting independently, leading to players being out of position and even several times bumping into each other getting in each others way. We have 4 players crashing the boards for offensive rebounding except we're small so we don't usually get it leading to a highlightly fast break. It would be comical if I wasn't a fan.
