You may be right .... but I tend to think that it takes a little while to develop a 19 year old athlete into a 26 year old basketball star.

These kids are coming in a year removed from highschool and starting next draft straight outa high school .... into a league where guys start hitting their prime around 26-27 into their mid 30's.

The expectations of coming into the league and putting a 20 win team on a kids shoulders and dragging it into the playoffs in his second season is just too much.

Other than Magic (13wins) & Bird (32wins), who else has ever come into the league and made a real difference as a rookie?
Even Lebron only improved the Cavs from 17 to 35 W's.

People need to lower their expectations .... they were a 20 win teams who traded away their "most productive" player.

All these threads about Fire Silas or Fire Stone .... are premature. These kids can't even buy a damn beer ....

We're badly in need of a pg!
    Scoot Henderson no brainer!
    …but
i gotta say i watched some highlights of him, it seems Henderson ain't an old school pg like cp3 or Lowery, that's a big concern for me, cuz teams like us who are so eager for a reliable starting point god, need the guy to facilitate, control tempo , create opportunities for his men, n most important of all make those around him getting flourish.
Maybe I'm wrong, just ain't so sure whether scoot is the ONE or not, we definitely can not afford to 'two scoot'…already got one:( scary

Edit: the odd is, ppl whose first name or nickname is 'scoot', might be pretty impulsive or immature…guys…just be careful.

If Houston misses out on the top two. I like Nick Smith or Anthony Black, Keynote George, Cam Whitemore, Dariq Whitehead, and Dillion Mitchell.

We don't need an old school PG so much as we need a primary ball handler who makes good decisions. It would be nice if he was a great passer as well, as KPJ and Green are just OK at best.

But we're such a dumpster fire right now that I don't know if anyone will make a notable difference immediately except for Wemby.

“Assuming we lose out?” We could lose 30 games more than than the next worst team and still have the exact same odds of getting the number one pick as them. If we don’t get the first it’s not some shocking “what if” event. It’s actually a likely scenario…

Whichever player ensures KPJ is no longer in the lineup.

while i agree, there still needs to be a cutoff . most people say next year .

yes we are young . I could be a great NBA GM if the goal was to remain perpetually young and bad

Evidence that tanking is just as (un)guaranteed a strategy as attempting to build through development and FA. Even if there is a Lebron in the draft, you only have 14% chance of getting him even if you’re the worst team to ever play the game. Outside of 2003, when was the last time we had a draft so stacked it didn’t matter if you were 1 or 5 you were getting a Melo, a Wade, a Bosh, a Lebron, etc.

Even Victor isn’t a guarantee. He’s a fluid stick with a jumpshot. No guarantee he makes it in NBA.

objectively to say, yes, you're right. a primary ball handler or great passer should be good enough to solve THE problem now we're facing, that means, with time goes by (this season), looking for a legit PG gonna be critical to our rebuilding, and could even be deemed as a little bit pressing.

putting aside (the possibility of finding a PG from) trade market, if we turn to 2023 class for a dream PG, recruiting Scoot Handerson looks like a no brainer.
as a top-notch PG, Scoot is a crafty and sneaky ball handler without any question, but my concern is there seems to be a better chance he could turn into a 'trigger happy' PG or even a ball hog (based on highlights i could find online). if that's the situation, he could hardly fit in, since JG(2), KPj(3) and even Alpi(5) also need the ball.
so, back to this very topic, my point is, we'd better zero at Wemby, while scouting other point guards in this class.

That may be the case. I have no idea.

But even if it's true that Scoot is a guy who needs to be featured in a heliocentric offense in order to get the most out of him, I'd still take him #2.

That is because we don't yet know if we have our future franchise player yet. Maybe Jalen or Jabari will be that - HOPEFULLY they will! - but we don't know that for sure yet.

So that being the case, I would just take BPA without hesitation.

I hear there's a ball dominant guard that can't shoot the Rockets could go after.
