He last December said he'd be down for 7 seasons of Witcher, I kinda doubt superman comes that close to that potential pay day. But there are a lot of rumours that the netflix directors don't like the Witcher source material much and want to change it up further, so I can see him being disappointed how his dream role turned out and leaving.

In a vacuum, the role of Superman vs. Geralt is no contest. Superman wins every time in a landslide. If he just left Geralt cold, then you could ask what happened. I do believe he gave the Witcher credibility it did not yet have with the masses. So he put it on the map. But Chris Hemmsworth is almost certainly a near equal so that's a solid replacement for that role.
