I would say the disadvantage of walks is they are more likely to lead to higher pitch counts It would behoove the Astros to limit the amount of times Phillies see the same bullpen members I don't disagree with your overall sentiment though
It was cool how Altuve's HR was spanked into an OUT Absolutely amazing spank-job Beware of hot teams, even if they turn cold suddenly the following seasons
Astros forecast We predict an Astros win tonight. Oh, you meant a weather forecast. Game time temperatures at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia this evening for Game 3 of the World Series, which starts at 7:03 pm CT, will be about 60 degrees, with light southerly winds. They won’t drop much throughout the game. Our major concern is rainfall, with about a 50 percent chance during the evening hours. However, any rain that does fall before midnight looks to be fairly light, so it probably will be something the game can be played through. Nevertheless, forecasters will be watching closely for any stray thunderstorms.
I'm getting sick and tired of hearing how Citizen's Bank Park will somehow defeat the Astros. It doesn't hit, pitch or field. So enough.
That is somewhat offset by the fact that a walk is never more than a single base and does not allow for existing baserunners to take extra bases either. I hate walks. They make me crazy because MLB pitchers should be able to execute but I prefer them to doubles and homeruns
He does and there is no reason for him not to be. Lance does tend to always have high pitch counts anyway. It's simply his pitching "style" if you will. The bullpen is well rested after the off day.
It's not even like in football where you have call plays and change things at the line. Plus they just played at Yankee stadium, and have face 2 years of being the Big Evil team that every fanbase hates. It's just so annoying.
It's cute how the phillies and their fans think being home with their stereotypical Philly crowd will somehow cure all of their ills and scare the Astros into nothing. Because, you know, we haven't been playing in front of extremely hostile crowds for 2 years and won World Series games on the road before.
The Astros need to just keep starting like they have. Score early and score often. But they need to keep adding on. 8 runs in the first 3 innings and no runs after the 5th? The Astros need to stomp on their throats by extending the lead throughout not letting them hang around and cut into it.
Not just an off day, but only 2 relievers were used in Game 2 thanks to Dusty being so stubborn. Everyone but Montero should be available in Game 3.
Dusty absolutely loves Montero -- I think he's available tonight. Here's how I'd manage tonight: McCullers 4 or 5 innings. Abreu - Stanek - Montero - Pressley for 6-7-8-9. Neris ready to go if anyone falters. Urquidy, Hunter Brown, Luis Garcia held in reserve if the unexpected happens. AND HENSLEY AT DH
