Id like to see them at least sign somebody lmao. I know they arent getting a star but you cant just be out here running a line up undrafted g leaguers and your 2nd round picks
Interesting question, If we strike out on this next draft, would most you guys agree he should be fired?
No im aware of that. I’m mainly talking about op calling Jalen and Jabari a bust. Way too soon to say that
bro yes As ridiculous as it sounds I think half of clutchfans can do about as a good a job as egghead has done so far
From Olajuwon to Yao to Harden the fanbase has been spoiled with generational type talent as the cornerstone . Chucker one dimensional Green with no playmaking skills and extreme tunnel vision ain’t it. He is a athletic version of von vafer without Vafers three ball. Huge bust
Stone said to not judge him until 2030, so stfu and enjoy the tank…it’s what most of y’all want anyways
Way too early for either player. And I understand that. But Jalen is doing nothing to get me excited for the future. To me he looks like a slightly better version of Jordan Clarkson.
Mathurin and Sharpe could be real good though, there are couple guys that are intriguing. I am not against Jabari, I can live with it. The Rockets might not be the best fit for him at the moment.
Nobody would have tsken Mathurin or Sharpe at 3 lets be real. Not even Pacers or Portland wouldve taken them at 3.
I can't help but feel there's a little bit of karma for a lot of Rockets fans now, getting their comeuppance thinking life after James 'the worst person in human history' Harden would be great because he's gone.
Keegan Murray is two and a half years older than Smith. You basically have to compare rookie Murray to Smith in 2024. He is basically the age of Zion. That said I like Keegan and I did like him before the draft. And Mathurin looks like the steal of the draft so far. Still if we had to redraft today, I still think I would have went with Smith. You don't often get that combination of size, shooting, defense and work ethic - especially at his age. I do believe he will find his rhythm and get his percentages up - and I do believe he can improve finishing through contact and incorparate an efficient step back oder fadeaway shot from 2. As others have said, we are talking about a teenager with 6 professional games under his belt. As for Green - I do hope he becomes more consistent. But come one. He has shown more than enough to be excited about his future growth. He would already be at worst a scoring plug of the bench for any team in the league. And I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the all-star team this year or next year.
Jabari has been pressing early on in the season when he really is built to be a player who plays good defense, and hits open shots to spread the defense out as a unique sharp shooting big who can defend. That’s who he likely is going to be but of course he has the tools to be much more unique. What’s doing now though is trying to insert himself too much and isolate because that’s the only way he’s getting shots up in this offense. The fact is both guys probably aren’t playmakers and would look entirely different and would be deadly on other teams. This teams best playmaker is KPJ and while he’s getting better he’s not anywhere near what they need in order to make everyone around him better. Unfortunately in free agency this summer our only two options would be James Harden or Kyrie freaking Irving… ugh. Not even sure either of those guys would be either available or in shape to do what we’d need them to do. A trade… maybe. Either way though, until we get an elite playmaker or magically KPJ, or Jalen become that, Jabari and Jalen will probably look worse then they really are. Look at Devin Booker as an example… we need to be patient guys. Booker got CP3 and look at what happened after. Jalen and Jabari are not busts. I see no evidence they aren’t really freaking valuable talents. We just need to keep our eyes open for a player to come available that unlocks those talents… and a coach that knows how to coach.
